There is a tool for pushing pistons in or you can rent it that works way better than a C clamp. Most are cheaper than a C clamp also.

What's the torque specs?

Did you bed in the pads to the rotor? And how are these holding up so far?

Great video. I'm shocked that it needed a brake job with such low miles. I'm guessing that you are driving that car at the track. With normal driving it would be like 200,000 miles until the first brake job. That car has regenerative braking and almost stops without even using the brake peddle. At 10,000 miles I had 95% of my brake pads remaining on my EV.

You’re right. Mine’s an older 2018 so doesn’t have the high regen ability and stoppage. Yet still got to 172k miles for the front. And then replaced the rears at 200k.

Honestly, my wife doesn't drive either of your cars.... Seriously, though, they were probably still good to last for a while longer when I replaced them...

Good video, one question don't you need to bleed the brake i see you never removed the brake nipples etc
@maxlife4382 ай бұрын
NO requirement to bleed the brakes if you do not break the seal on the closed system. Basically, unless you disconnect a brake line, there is no requirement to bleed the brakes when you change pads or rotors

Wouldn’t pushing the brakes back effect the brake fluid

What were the torque specs for the caliper bolts and guides? TIA
@maxlife438 Жыл бұрын
I can't believe I left that out. The caliper bolts are 88 ft-lbs, and the parking brake calipers are 42 ft-lbs Not sure what you mean by the guides, but I hope this helps

Please don't let your caliper hang on the brake line like that. There are hooks made for it or just use a bunny cord. Also, you don't have to reinstall the torx screw, that's to hold rotor in place while going thru the factory, the tire and lug nuts keep it snug.

please provide a link to the parts you ordered. thanks.
For the X, I just found some at CarParts.com. These were just the cheapest standard rotors and pads set out there that came from a company I've heard of. Very happy with how they turned out. www.carparts.com/Brake-Disc-and-Pad-Kit/Powerstop/P15CRK6798?bsft_aaid=e748ae88-c8ab-4fa9-b03d-ced7c4a6fd33&bsft_eid=cf29325e-7635-2943-23f5-b53564b26462&bsft_clkid=4d54b538-7de9-4019-8307-d0fcfab51be2&bsft_uid=e005f8e7-e726-49e4-a41e-d998c236f2e1&bsft_mid=8bb9247f-57e2-4633-9a12-37b3a5537f3c&bsft_txnid=2d680045-21a0-496e-b44d-e87cf9106b0d&bsft_mime_type=html&bsft_ek=2022-11-16T21%3A30%3A08Z&bsft_lx=20&bsft_tv=261 www.carparts.com/Brake-Disc-and-Pad-Kit/Powerstop/P15CRK6799?bsft_aaid=e748ae88-c8ab-4fa9-b03d-ced7c4a6fd33&bsft_eid=cf29325e-7635-2943-23f5-b53564b26462&bsft_clkid=61059381-e458-4397-9c79-7bb303503e5d&bsft_uid=e005f8e7-e726-49e4-a41e-d998c236f2e1&bsft_mid=8bb9247f-57e2-4633-9a12-37b3a5537f3c&bsft_txnid=2d680045-21a0-496e-b44d-e87cf9106b0d&bsft_mime_type=html&bsft_ek=2022-11-16T21%3A30%3A08Z&bsft_lx=20&bsft_tv=261
