Replacing the coil packs on the Intech 32 valve V8 in our 2003 Lincon Aviator. Honestly, it was really really easy!

Mine has 240,000 miles and I've had it since it was new. Mine has always been serviced at Lincoln. They replaced 6 coils on warranty just before 100,000 miles.

Yeah I bought it as a band aid as our previous suv died. Won’t be with us much longer. Too many issues as the previous owner didn’t care for her. But overall not mad with how much I paid in a pinch. Overall it’s been good.

HI, IF YOU STILL HAVE YOUR AVIATOR FOR A HIGH MILEAGE OIL CHANGE DO YOU RECOMMEND FULL SYNTHETIC OR SYNTHETIC BLEND?

Did you figure out you needed coils do to a check engine light? I know that my navigator ran really strong and powerful when I first got it. It sat threw the winter and never ran strong again but never threw a fault code!

The navigator has a Triton V8. They develop carbon deposits on the intake cakes that lowers power. To fix it you have to get it walnut blasted wil high isn’t cheap. As for mine we got rid of it a little after this video as it developed so many problems.

Did you have to change any wires? I'm getting ready to change my coils and plugs but didn't know if you had to do any wires too?
@EveryDayPetrolHead3 жыл бұрын
I would recommend it. Fresh wires are always better.

Whats the mileage on yours ? Mines is a 2003 with 96,000 and the codes come and disappear for the coils. Where did you buy yours ?

123000 miles. We bought it as a band aid. Our other suv died. This one was not cared for at all so I took care of it. I’ll have to look up where I got the coils and shoot it to you later. But she won’t be with us long. Maybe a few more months. Previous owner just didnt care for her.

My 03 aviator needs the cylinder head assembly replaced. I got a $12k quote. Would you proceed with the fix or replace it. Some mechanics just recommend replacing the whole engine. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

At that price I would get a new motor. Actually you could literally get a new crate motor for that price. The better question is do you love this car? It may be time to consider if it’s worth pouring more money into it or just replacing it.

My Lincoln Navigator is not giving me the codes. Yet I am due for a tune up. Is there a way to manually tell which spark plug or coil is the one failing?
@EveryDayPetrolHead2 жыл бұрын
The only way I know is to switch the plugs around and see if things change. But that’s guessing. I would just replace them all to be honest.

I'm not sure cause my 93 bmw 525i is a pain to change the radiator hose under the intake

Where do you get that diagnostic thing from

Amazon. It’s a Bluetooth obd2 reader. And I used an android tablet with it. They make them for iPhone but this software was android only at the time.
