Thanks for the video - I blew a switch because the top wasn't coming up - come to find out the grommets on the pump dry rotted and the motor came off its mount. the pump was sidewise under the boot and I did not notice till I watched your video for help, your little spill got me looking. Thanks! I have a 72 Chevelle SS 454 Convertible

If you fully replace the rams as well do they have to have fluid in them before you start the cycle and if so how do I fill them before

I need to replace mine. The instructions that came with the motor says I need to free the cylinders from the frame and bleed it. Do I really need to do that?

@5:00 what is the item between back seat and your lines .... can only see the bottom of it behind the trunk divider wall sitting on rubber?

Any tips on mounting the pump by getting the rubbers to go through the holes. I got new rubbers and as much as i push I cannot get them through the holes.

Screw driver works , but use the big end so you don't ripp the grommet

@@goosseperformance1444 mine is a 68 Camaro and no access from the boot (trunk) but have access from behind the back seat. So using a flat screwdriver you think I can assist and pry the rubber through the hole? I will try when our COVID lockdown ends in Melbourne Australia and can have a friend over helping me. I have a 1958 Pontiac. I can hear the motor running when I try to open the top but it wont open. I did work a few months back and I don't see any leakage of fluid anywhere with the motor or the cylinders. Any ideas? Thanks.

could have air in the lines or the cylinders could be bad

I managed to fix it. I removed the motor and took it apart. The fluid in it was like sludge. I cleaned out the reservoir and pumped as much as I could out of the cylinders and lines. Refilled the fluid, bled the lines and it seems to be functioning normal. Thanks.

Hey Sean ,where does the air bleed out? He doesn't show or explain that. Where are the bleeder screws ? I have a 71 Cutlass too Thanks. PTF is thread seal or plumbing grease . Silicone grease would probably work too ??
