Thanks for the great video. You think exactly like me on safety-I also have the floor jack ready to catch the car in case the jack stand fails. Couple of pointers I have received in the past include turning the wheel to help with loosening of the caliper bracket bolts. In your case, on the driver side, if you turn the wheel all the way to the left, you will have easier access to the caliper bolts without having to reach in. Also, I replace the brake pad clips and use high temperature brake lubricant where the brake pad meets the clips (in addition to the brake pad backing plate where you used the moly coat). I have also started to use anti-seize on the bolts securing the caliper bracket and caliper bolts so it makes it easier to remove the next time. Lastly, I replace the glide pin boots on the caliper and clean the pin slot and use pure silicon paste on the inside so the glide pin bolts slide easily. There is nothing that beats the joy of doing your own repair and doing them right. Here's to more DIY auto repairs!

the brake wear indicator that metal strip you called a spring clip goes on inside of caliper it was on that side with old pads you took off

Thanks for that. 1) It is also good to grease the ears of the new brake pads. 2) I recommend pulling out and inspecting the caliper pins. They need to slide freely in the bore. They are about $12 a pair to replace, but may be fine to clean, grease, and reuse.

Return spring should be on the bottom facing outward...

are you talking about the squealer sticking off the one pad?

It's too for 2011

Just a note, you need to grease the friction clip points. You should not grease the back of the pad. You do not want that slipping you want to ends where pad clips to be greased.

Actually no I don’t want anything exposed to be grease if it’s exposed it should be oil unless it’s specific uses
@ranger1782 ай бұрын
the grease on back of pads helps stop squealing of brakes probably better to apply it to the caliper ears and the piston ends so it does not collect too much dirt in areas out in open that it is not needed
