ohm out the motor should be looking for about 20-24 thru any two combinations windings, but from experience 99 out of 100 its inside the drive...

thanks for the video can you tell me how to trouble shoot before I order a $500 part I may not need? Mine had one error stalled I think it was after a breaker reset no errors or warning but, it never starts up, not even using the quick clean or speeds

Probably needs a drive. Possibly a motor too. Consider a new pump, tristar 950 due to age..

Totally freaking amazing HOW MANY PEOPLE HAD FAILURE WITH THIS PUMP, just after the 3 year warranty! Hayward, is ripping people off - they know these pumps are going to fail, just after the 3 year mark, but yet... keep charging $1000-$12000 for them? Seriously.

Mine and my brother both failed bought a year apart failed a year apart BS Motor drive $500 plus dollars, I will never buy anything Hayward again

Mine is 3 years old and now it intermittingly won't start or loud as hell - assuming bearings. Called several authorized hayward repair centers and 2 of them said they wouldn't sell me a new hayward and tthe cost to replace the motor is $790 just for parts. They are ripping people off .. $1800 for this pump should last at least 5-7 years. Don't buy it!

I agree with you. I had to replace my pump just after 3 years ,another $1500 install.What a frickin RIP OFF. A very crooked company.

What if the pump is connected to a intermatic dial? Do I still choose relay?

Ultrablue Pool & Spa, Inc. no. Standalone. Remove both ON and OFF pins from timer and leave the switch on the ON position. Go to ecostar and program it to your liking

no "stand alone" mode and remove pins on completely remove time clock as long an no appliances are connected like an ozone, salt generator etc. the program the pump to run using its internal time clock. Jose Neto Is right on!
