Replacing Headlight (2005 Dodge Dakota)

Well everybody I did a tail light replacing video from when I accidentally backed into a trash can. This time I was on the highway and a metal towel bar was kicked up by another car and smashed my headlight so as everything is circular I am now replacing the headlight. Enjoy!!

This video was so helpful!! Just replaced the headlight assembly on my 2005 Dodge Dakota. No need to loosen bumper. All is accessible once hood is lifted. Now all I have to figure out is how to aim the headlights. Thank you for posting this!!

Lol not loosened unfortunately had a fender bender that did that for me, but the access is still there. The loose cover actually made it harder to reach around and tighten the bolts.

SAVE the Rubber Dust Boot!!!! Bought aftermarket headlight assemblies.The supplied boot failed and so did the bulb. I saved the old assemblies so had a boot to use as replacement. Hi beam has failed on driver side. Will replace both bulbs and make sure original equipment boots are in both new assemblies. I found one(last one) reasonably priced on Ebay.

You can do it without loosening bumper just need to lift hood and there is a small opening for the bottom bolt of headlight

@@dbarebasics6205 yes thanks I was able to replace one of the bulbs on the right headlight. I think there was 3 torx head T30 bolts. A socket extension is needed, it's a very tight fit.

I had replaced my headlights and I broke the clips that attach them to the fender does anyone know where I can find replacements I’ve tried mopar and other part websites

If you have a junkyard with your model car you may be able to get the clips there if they have your car or perhaps rock auto parts

Put a new engine in mine about 8 months ago. Had the tranny worked on before that, now have to go a new tranny. Replaced front suspension at 100,000 miles, replaced engine at 185,000, now looking tranny replacement at 188,000. Guess l should not complain. Bought it in 2006 with 23,000 miles and am the 2nd owner.
