Replacing HOUDINI hatch with an GEBO hatch Direct Replacement!!! S2 E19

Never really liked them but the leak was the last straw. NEBO are a direct replacement, maybe on some boats but recessed like Foxy Lady needs a bit more work!!

I don't know about everyone else but I'd have first coated that wood for the hatch opening with epoxy to fill those cracks and seal/strengthen the wood then done the silicone.

Would have been great mate but i didnt have the time or energy. I just wanted a dry bed! Cracks were filled with Sika so no ingress of anything through there!

Hi Spence I know its a bit late for your bed hatch but ifvits not too late for the girls cabin hatch why don't you save the mess on their beds by taping a piece of polythene around the inside of the hatch appature . Terry

Hi Clive, it was a quick swap mate so didnt epoxy holes or anything, the gasket material back filled them though. Anywhere that was cracked or holed was filled with either sika or covered by the gasket(completely gone what its called)🤣
