I have a 1995 Buick Century and just had to do this. Luckily all I had to do was take off the part that surrounds the door handle and door lock. I got the door handle from Autozone, part #77025, for $20. Took off the door part, need a drill, and a riveter. The door handle clips in but is held in my the rivet. The part that engages the door broke off, so we had to pull out that part to unclip the broken part, drill out the rivet, pop the new handle in. Reclip the latch, and rivet in place the new handle. Having the proper tools was key (drill, rivetor, claps), took less than a hour. Did have to drill a bigger hole in the part for the latch to go into for my particular car.

I'm not completely sure how to fix that issue. I have encountered it myself, but it seemed to correct itself within a short time. You might be able to use a screwdriver or something similar to clear the debris.

My sister has the same car with the same problem except on the passenger side. Apart from installing it is there any wire or "metal cables" to feed through out the door to hook the latch latch

I'm not sure if those have to be left in place. I'm not very familiar with the back panel, but I would imagine they're similar to the front. All 4 doors handles are installed the same too. The power window motors are close to the handle. These also commonly have problems on these cars.

Where did you get the new part? My whole door panel needs to be replaced, and i'm not sure where to get a new one. Please help me with this. Because that's all i need. other then that, this was useless. I've taken all four doors apart before.

No, I used a small bolt and nut to hold it in.

Also, I don't know if I have to leave those caps in that place. My car it's a Cutlass Ciera '93. My parents took it to a repaint job. But the guys at the workshop did a terrible job, the taillights were broken and they just sealed them in place instead of replacing them! The outside rubbers of the windows' doors were in a bad condition and this guys didn't bother to get a new ones (even if the price increased). Now I have to deal with those issues :/

Did you by chance, have any idea on how to clean up the inside of the back doors? After a fewer last rains I noticed this hard smell to humidity and then I looked for the source of it. It turns out the back doors are filled with water and had nowhere to go after. I removed the plastic caps on the bottom, to empty the doors but they're full with mud. I don't want to damaged the interior using hardware tools, pay someone to clean them or use a hose, but I want to learn how to do it properly.

Video started out great with video instruction on how to remove the door paneling but by failing to show the removal and installation of the new part makes this video worthless as titled for "Replacing Interior Door Handle on an Oldsmobile Ciera". Video would be fine if titled "How to remove paneling of Oldsmobile Ciera door".
