I work in jewelry and lapidary. You sir, are a MASTER. Yes, zirconia is indeed a miraculous crystalline substance. I once dropped a loose 300 carat emerald cut zirconia on a tile surface and had only a tiny micro chip. My only concern would be using these on opposing teeth of different (or natural) composition. Zirconia has a mohs hardness of 8. This is several orders of magnitude harder than porcelain, and many orders of magnitude harder than enamel. So I'd wonder about excessive wear on natural opposing teeth. Still, it is, without a doubt, one of the most versatile crystalline materials on the planet.

Amazing and professional job! I've never seen work like this. My sister broke her #9 tooth when she was a kid falling off the bed while sleeping on the top bunk. Today she is in her 40's and had the crown replaced once and it was bad the first time. The replacement crown was even worse (horrible, horrible job). This dentist did not know what he was doing. It's so difficult to find such professional looking work. Thank you so much for the video!
@jenniferdowell35009 жыл бұрын
+Sharon Girl I'm in a similar situation to your sister. I chipped the bottom of my #8 tooth when I slipped on a metal slide and hit the hand rail face first. There is a crack down the middle of the tooth, and it is discolored. I'm 31 and until now no dentist has done anything with it other than filing at the bottom to make the chip less noticeable when I had braces. This morning I went to the dentist and they said I have cavities in it. They said I could go with normal fillings for now, but in the future I may need a crown, and that they'd need to do the #9 tooth as well for it to be even or something. That's what brought me to this video is I was wondering what a crown entailed. The dentist in this video did an excellent job and I'm really impressed with how the after picture looked. I'm just afraid of getting a result like the before in this video. Not to mention, I'm allergic to metal and am afraid I'd have a reaction to the crowns that the dentist took off. My dentist didn't mention these new Zirconia crowns so I'm not sure if it would be an option for me.

@namrur28 жыл бұрын
18:44 shows an equal front teeth height, while actually all over the procedures it's very noticeable that the left teeth is shorter. Considering there is no possibility for a gum growth, I believe there was some Photoshop work done on the final result picture, and making the right teeth shorter and equal in the gum line.
@TheTonyMcD8 жыл бұрын
I noticed that too. Are you sure there is no possibility of gum re-growth though? I once was in a car accident, and smashed my face pretty good. My lower teeth went through my lips, and two of them had a pretty deep cut into the gum line. I mean after it healed, the gum on those two teeth were cut back probably like 3 or 4mm. it took quite a while, but eventually the gum did grow back, fully. Took probably five or six months, but of course that wasn't from gingivitis.

what hurts worse, a root canal or crowns? and what is the most painful dental procedure(just curious) ... and i am so not looking forward to getting crowns, everyone says they hate dentists, im ok with them but after feeling the shot in the lip this shot in the gums looks painful, idk why they cant rub something on it to numb it before sticking the needle in lol ,and i have a high tolerance for pain
@scablet7 жыл бұрын
J Lynn don't do root canals. implants are the best optio. cause esp better for your jaw bone. but implants are crazy expensive. don't do root canal whatever happens.
@altheapaolucci2347 жыл бұрын
J Lynn - I had a root canal when I was 8 or 9. I fell on my face and chipped my 2 front teeth and they put caps on the bottoms afterwards. Now at 33 I got crowns on both. Honestly the only part that hurts is when the dentist numbs you with the needle. I felt nothing for either procedure. VERY mild pain after the numbness wore off for about a day after I got my temporary crowns put on. The worst dental procedure might be tooth extraction, but that's just guess as I've never had any teeth pulled.

how come her left side crown goes up into the gum further than her right one? Can you make them even? I have crowns in the front and mine are uneven, too. And what sucks about it is when I'm naturally smiling or laughing, my top gums show.
@oralcareclub27625 жыл бұрын
Great question mindy. And you are right. They should have addressed that in this video. The gums are changeable. It requires a small amount of surgery to remove the excess gum tissue but it's not too bad at all. The gums can, and SHOULD, look even if the case is done correctly. Hop over to OralCareClub's page for more dental info. Have a good one. Dr Ellis

@sakaribearden34418 жыл бұрын
Hey! Just saw your post on KZbin. You need to get your dentist to prescribe you some Amoxicillan to get rid of the infection. And gargle with peroxide (make sure you don't swallow any) to help with that too. Its going to be hard to get rid of the pain when the infection is full blown like that. And REMEMBER: an Abscess can travel all the way to the heart. You definitely don't want that. Take care.
