The Torx 50 bolt at 6:10 doesn't need to be loosened. Use a 30mm wrench on the large hex part to rotate the tensioner clockwise.

Just did this maintenance and this is a very important point. "The Torx bolt at 6:10 doesn't need to be loosened" Saves you a lot of time, and you don't need the special tool and wedge etc.

Super Video! Habe alles so gemacht bis auf das Luftfiltergehäuse (habe ich direkt am Stück ausgebaut). Den alten Riemen habe ich durchgeschnitten weil er sich irgendwie verheddert hatte. Der Einbau des neuen Riemen war einfacher als gedacht. Ich habe einen CONTI 6DPK1853 eingebaut (für den 997.2 gibt Porsche 9A1 102 216 01 an). Eine Laufrichtung hat ein neuer Riemen nicht. Unsicher war ich mir was die Innen- / Aussenseite des Riemens ist (eine Seite ist "filzig", die andere hat glänzende Partikel). Hoffentlich läuft die richtige Seite des Riemens über die Kurbelwellenscheibe! Jürgen: Ohne diese Video hätte ich mich nicht getraut. Sobald Du eins über den Zündkerzenwechsel am 997.2 machst, wechsle ich die ZK auch noch selber!

I change the air filters with the entire box out of the car. much easier...no chance of losing screws.....

Thank you - great video~! Question please: can you explain why the TORX T50 bolt (at 6:10 in the video) needs to be loosened? I see no mention of this is other posts and do not understand. For example, there is no T50 bolt here... rennlist.com/forums/997-forum/775306-serpentine-belt-replacement-997-2-a.html Also I just received Porsche techinfo guide "WM 137819 Removing and installing drive belt" and there is no mention of that bolt there either, but everything else is perfect. Some minor additions are Porsche says not to remove belt when arm as it will deform (assuming reuse is planned) also at the start it is important to note the direction the belt runs in so the new or reinstalled belt is put on in the right direction. This is common sense for a lot of people, but people like me need to be told :)

Gutes Video, ich würde lediglich das Luftfiltergehäuse direkt am Stück ausbauen, das erspart das fummeln mit den Schrauben, da man das Gehäuse dann auf einer Werkbank einfach auf schrauben kann. Gerade wenn man eh den Riemen mit tauscht. Ansonsten Top

irina25661 the air filter has fur covering. You taked off that before installing. Does it need or not? For your wife - у фильтра есть "меховушка", надо ее снимать перед установкой фильтра или нет? Я заметил, вы сняли.
