I had to change the cassette deck belts on this JVC mini HiFi system from 1995 and I decided to document the process. So if you need to swap the belts on a device like this, you have a reference.
My measurements of the belts (no guarantee that these are 100% correct):
1x 145 mm
1x 125 mm
2x 65 mm
All belts are 1mm²
The replacement pinch rollers I used are 12mm (diameter) x 6.5mm (thickness) x 2 mm (shaft).

I have this exactly same system still at home. I send it to repair, since both of the decks also does not work. Now I atleast know that the pinch rollers should also be changed. This as very good sounds, and actually pretty nice amplifier power. I've used it with big speakers and it sounds just awesome with that Active Bass Ex ( which is the newer version of that old legendary Active Hyper-Bass. ). The cd changer also started to work when I took the dust off from there myself. Still a very good amp, since it has rca in, so you can basically add a rca - 3,5mm stereo plug in it and use an MP3 player, mobile phone or laptop to play with it. This can also be connected to nowadays amplifiers via the headphones plug, if man wants to connect it to a bigger sound setup. It has a motion sensor, so when you walk by it, it lights up. And it also has programmable cd player, listen only the tracks you like, and you can also use a timer for waking up into your favourite radio fm, cd, or a tape :) Freaking awesome machine, and yes, it's a Japanese one ( Japan Victor Company = JVC ). Thank you very much from this very patient and carefully made video. I believe decks and casettes are taking a comeback this decade.

That's good for another 30 years! I have one of these in the loft of my garage. The exact same unit. It was left out for the rubbish collection by one of our neighbours and I grabbed it whilst walking with our dogs. Although I have had it for over 20 years it has never been powered up as it was forgotten about due to other projects. The belts in it will be rotten by now.

@@retro_tech Exactly. And also to fit the back panel before I try the tape decks otherwise there will be distortion!

Great video,thanks. The only difference,i took off the tape board before the screws to remove the deck itself,so it was pretty easier. But i got stucked,one resistor moved a bit and touched another one during reassembling,so i have to replace 3 resistors now too. But excellent video,thanks for the help

One thing I noticed is that the one you are repairing doesn't have microphone connectors. Exactly where, on yours it says 1 BIT. Mine launched here in Brazil, it has connectors for two microphones and the key for the volume of the microphones. The microphones would be for karaoke, obviously. Would you know if this would be a market strategy for a country to launch identical devices but with some differences? Thanks!

Yes, it's marketing and cost saving. Karaoke was never a thing here in Europe. It's quite common to see karaoke circuits being omitted in European devices.

@@retro_tech Curious to know that. I thought KARAOKE was common in EUROPE. I appreciate your kindness and thank you very much for your attention.

Dear RETRO TECH, on my D4T, the pressure rollers are also hard but do not cause any malfunction. Mine's pressure rollers are the same as the ones you showed, hard as plastic but it plays the tapes normally without any problems. I find it strange but the important thing is that it works normally. Do you have any theories about this? Thank you very much!
@retro_tech

No idea, but they could be just not too hard. It also depends on the age of the tape as some tapes that haven't been played for a long time run much more difficult than fresh ones.

I don't have this hifi in my possession anymore. You can find detailed instructions on how to disassemble the CD mechanism in the service manual.
