What’s the part number for the bottom bracket motivated me to swap out the three speed on my drt 1.1 and teeth number on crankset

Howdy, here is the BB I purchased for the video: amzn.to/3DxaYXr I used the 73mm X 113mm option. The chainring is a 32T oval. Keep in mind, for this bike/crankset combo I also had to use spacers with longer chainring bolts. Both this and the BB was to bring the chainring as close to the frame as I could get it with clearance. YMMV depending on the crankset you go with. Just keep that in mind if one or the other still doesn’t get the chain line where you need it.

Would you mind telling what is model of the new bottom bracket? I am trying to find what is the ideal model for this DRT 1.1 but Rei website has nothing good informing. Thanks

There's a link in another comment on this video. That said, I'm not sure it's available via that link anymore. Looks like they changed the sizing options and/or the product title. I wouldn't trust it without another bout of full on research. What I used in the Video was a Shimano BSA 73MM, Spindle: LL113. I think the part number was EBBUN300C13X. I do recall researching what to get was quite the task back when. REI's documentation definitely leaves a lot to be desired. Hope this helps, if all else fails, I'd absolutely recommend swinging by your trusty LBS. Legit bike mechanics will likely know better than myself.

Nice video, thank you! What is that bike work stand you were using? I need something like that

Here’s the stand I used in the video. amzn.to/3XCJ05e My only complaint is that it’s only useful for bikes with the bottom stays that are at the same height. Works for this bike, but my kid’s Giant Talon has a chain stay that is offset in height from the other side so I can’t use this stand on it. At least not without stuffing a piece of wood or something in there to compensate the difference. That said, and for that reason, I’ve since upgraded to a more traditional work stand. The kind that clamps to the seat post and let’s the bike hang. Hands down, worth every penny.

Says it’s an 11B1, don’t think Taiwan is a brand ;) This one I picked up at the LBS, pretty much told them I had square tapered cranks and they just handed it straight to me without a pause for thought. Believe any of them that are compatible with Shimano Square Tapered BBs should be the same.

@@CleaningTheObstacles also I wanna do the same thing to mine, 1x just looks better. Do you have a link for the BB you installed? Is it doing better now that you installed a shorter BB?

@@webmenacee The BB has been great! amzn.to/3DxaYXr Also here’s the cranks I have: amzn.to/3jpoFko Now, I should note: The chain ring that come on those cranks is the one I shredded, but I do suspect the chain line caused the thick 7 speed chain to eat away at the aluminum chainring until it finally gave. Also, this was my second go at moving the chain line. The first was spacers and longer chainring bolts to move the chainring further from the crank mounts and closer to the frame. You may be able to see those in the video in some of the close up shots, both solutions in play currently. While I can’t really recommend the chainring bolts and spacers as a “safe” solution, it’s worked for me without issue thus far. Though, you may have better luck going with a different/better set of cranks. Fair warning, bike wrenching and upgrades are addictive!
