I need to replace my capacitor but am very confused about the choices. The one that was in there says 2KV. Is that the output? Would any 2KV capacitor work? I just installed one that is working but my electrode isn't glowing and there is not break in the current... Can you help me? Cheers

Hello, Awesome video. You say to test the output to make sure you get the correct condenser for my machine. how do I do that with a multi meter. Also my rota switch is attached to the coil and has a spring in the middle of it, it won't change the amount of current coming out the wand. Do you think this fix will work? thank you for your time

Polypropylene vs Polyester capacitor which is good? I got old Original Haider device (1930s regular with just a few electrodes) but the Capacitor/Condenser was broken and last used abt a decade ago, but I don't know which cap ratings to use to restore it ? 220V VAC power.

Polypropylene, you have to be careful with the voltages, often they state the DC voltage even though they can be used with AC, anything below 1000VDC will die quickly(it will just lose value) depending on the amount of inductance in the coil, I suggest trying to get as close to 2Kv DC as you can, this will typically have a size of 1cm or more diameter, as for value, they vary between units significantly, I have had them go up to as much as 5uF, but typically they might be 50nf to 500nf, good to keep a selection in and see which gives the best spark, start with the higher values as lower resonant frequencies give more powerful sparks unlike the modern version of wand that are around 500Khz, you want to aim for 200Khz-you can check that with a oscillascope place a couple of meters away-the probes will pick up the signal without any contact (DO NOT CONNECT THE PROBES!!" Hope that helps. Best models seem to be the Rogers Vitalator-they have good wand transformers which is usually the first thing to give up the ghost.

Do you think you could draw me up a schematics of how the wiring works. Like how the wiring feeds from the potential meter ,capacitor to the coils. I mean just like the simplest drawing you could do like show the wires going how the wires all lead into what. I know it doesn't have a potential meter but I mean if it did you know how would that work or how the wires come off of the little rotor switch that you have and run do they run into the capacitor first and then into the coil? I have two violet rays, but in bad condition, one is from 1932 and the other from 1933 and I have a lot of electrodes for them, but I dont have the original manuals or electrode lists for them, could you please maybe scan the manual and the electrode list? I would greatly appraciete it!
