Thanks for the video, about to tackle this today. But this time I'm cutting an access hole while I have the tank out!

@@tophersgarage9841 ok, so I did it. Everything worked out perfect. I took her out for a drive and realized she won't go past 50 mph....now I had this problem before I. My other jeep and I fixed it with an octane fuel additive but do you think the fuel pump has anything to do with it? I did notice that the replacement fuel pump was smaller than the one I pulled out. Any advice would be great. Thanks again.

I would check to make sure the hoses didn’t get pinched when reinstalling the tank. You could also rent a fuel pressure tester and make sure you’ve got good fuel pressure.

Can’t really tell, but it looks like you removed the exhaust pipe. What size pressure and return hoses did you use? Nice job. Thanks
@tophersgarage98413 жыл бұрын
Yes, back half of the exhaust was removed. 5/16” hose was used, this is what size hose was on both supply and return from the factory

@@tophersgarage9841 I was just curious, I also used 5/16” fuel hose for both. I have a problem with the front skid plate holes not lining up. I had to use a Phillips head screwdriver and vise grips and crowbar to flex the skid plate to line up the holes. I also had a problem with the tank hitting the top and leaves the skid plates mounting plate/holes with a 1” gape. I have to force the skid plate up in position with the floor jack. Then my tank straps are loose. It would have been nice if Jeep would have cut a inspection hole in the floor so you could get at all the hoses, sending unit/pump and vapor valves/grommet's from the top.

Doug Harlow I would check first to make sure the hoses are laying flat in the channel in the top of the gas tank, second I would make sure that as you are jacking up on the tank the skid plate/tank is not deflecting and pushing up. You shouldn’t feel any resistance getting the skid plate flanges up to the frame. I also had to use a punch to align the holes on the front of the gas tank.

Anyone happen to know the hose sizes? All of mine are so dryrotted. I am trying to replace all of them
@tophersgarage98416 ай бұрын

@justinamos29486 ай бұрын
@tophersgarage9841 awesome. It's hard to tell with how much they've shrunk lol. Imma take the old ones in with me when I get the new ones, and I'll keep you informed. Thanks man

Brother shows no context on what bolts to pull out what size socket etc good video for hind sight but wtf lol homie just pullin hoses without saying what hoses and T bracket hoses
@MrPiimpslap Жыл бұрын
The skid-plate bolts are 1/2", hose clamps are 5/16" at filler/vent, 1/4" at fuel lines on top of tank, and fuel-pump housing bolts are 5/16".
