Thanks for illuminating the trials and tribulations for a C2 fuel tank removal.

i just bought a 67 that sat for the last 10 years... with ethanol gas in it. I know i need to replace the tank before i try to run it but thought no way would there be any info on how to do it. I appreciate you taking the time to make this video, it is a big help.

Aloha Bryan! Thanks for the video. I successfully pulled the tank on my '63 Roadster, and am about to put in the new one. You paved the way my friend, and for that I'm grateful. Probably saved me $1,000 in labor, so if you make it to Hawaii sometime, dinner is on me! Mahalo and Aloha, Scott

Success! No leaks. Took a trip to her second home; the gas station. Now, nothing but ethanol-free gas. Thanks again.

Good video! The lining in my 1969 Corvette has also disintegrated. It keeps stalling the car. I have new welded mufflers that are installed vertically, so it looks like the tank will clear them. Your video helped me. Thanks, Paul

Hi Bryan: I would politely suggest you replace the gas tank electrical connections with proper electrical weather resistant ones instead of the electrical tape that is on there now.

Nice video. Love your sarcastic comments. I’m not having any more children so I’m not too worried about reproductive harm issues.

I'm building a basket case 67 now. I bought it off a guy who owned it since late 1967, and he took it all apart in 1978. So I'm trying to figure out how it all goes back together. The old man I bought it off of is 95 years old.

Wow, quite the project. They are fun cars, too bad we could not drive this one in this video. I may be able to do a video on another one soon.

hey there bryan, awesome informative video. i'm having my gas tank replaced this coming week (by a garage) and was wondering about how long it took you to do the job (i want to make sure the garage doesn't charge me for an astronomical labor bill saying it too twice as long as it should have...lol)...thanks again :-)

It is hard to judge time when filming, I would guess it took about 4 hours. My Dad has a '65 Corvette with the exhaust out the back of the car, I had to cut the exhaust off and weld it back on, so that might take longer. I coated the tank in his since it was in better shape.

How did you get the crossmember off? It’s a real pain. The nut is in the chassis and the bolt keeps spinning
@bryansprojects35704 жыл бұрын
As I recall the bolts came from the top and I was able to fish a wrench up there somehow.
@marcellog31394 жыл бұрын
@@bryansprojects3570 sorry I meant the bolt is in the chassis. I was able to wedge plastic shims between the crossmember and chassis and got it off. I have the mufflers coming out the back so now I’m stuck trying to drop the tank.

@@marcellog3139 when I did this job on my Dads 65 Corvette I cut the mufflers off and then welded them back on.
@marcellog31394 жыл бұрын
@@bryansprojects3570 probably the easiest thing to do. I started taking off the rear bumper. Might resort to cutting the muffler if I can’t work around them.

@@bryansprojects3570 just cut off both mufflers lol couldn’t take it anymore... 1 more Q: Why did you prefer the rubber gasket over the cork one. My kit brought both.
