Replacing The Lower Engine / Gearbox Mount Talbot Express Highlander MK2

Decided to change the lower engine mount or commonly known as the gearbox mount.
Reason for the change was the juddering when setting off in 1st gear, also now and again I had to double clutch to get into 3rd but only occasionally. After fitting the juddering seems to have stopped

I did the one under the gear box and the one under the Air Filter, it made a vast difference, and as George said check the clutch cable because it is now slack. on my van when you put it in 1st gear I used to bang my knuckles on the Radio, but it is now a pleasure to drive.

I done all 3 of mine at the same time, it also helps getting it in first gear etc, it's that rear gearbox mount that gives you problems.

I am no mechanic and i don't claim to be but i have to say i was very surprised how easy it was.👍 Also make sure you purchase the correct size, there is 2 sizes. Ive just changed the gearbox collar (£70) and no change in the difficult shifting. The rear gearbox mount looks new so I dont know what to do. Will try tightening the clutch.

You could need the Gear Linkage kit from JK Towers
