With 3 major jobs to be done in the boatyard, we haul out and remove our mast to start the standing rig replacement! www.sailingnandji.com
We got a gnarly ocean in front of us, this year we plan to be sailing some of the most treacherous waters in the world. To do that, it is all in the preparation. We need to make sure our boat is solid and safe. We plan to be replacing one of the most important things on a sailboat. The standing rigging
Through our own records we learnt that Nandji 2's standing rig is 15 years old. The working life of your standing rigging is said to expire at 10 years, with the sailing we plan to have in front of us, this old girl needs a shiny new upgrade to make the boat ready for the ocean.

As far as I know, the only sailing channel that has over million subs is SLV. About 1.8 Millon. Delos is second with 800K. Next? Nahoa or Wynns? Sailing is a rather niche activity. I follow about 30 channels regularly.

Wow, So glad you could take care of even the smallest details and have confidence in your boat. Talulah is so happy and learning the importance of teamwork, hard work and doing one's best. She sure is growing up fast....I just smile so big watching her she is adorable ....I am patiently waiting for a grandchild....

Hello you guy’s ! Luv your videos. Tallulahis growing so fast ! How time flies Question to Josh those wire rope lines as the go into the bottom sleeve would it be a good idea to shrink wrap some rubber around sleeve and wire to stop water getting in the sleeve. Just a thought !! Enjoy the evening cheers
@FrothLyfeSailingNandji
@FrothLyfeSailingNandji Ай бұрын
Good thinking although then you are also trapping the water that gets in. Water will find a way in that is for sure!!!!
@williammolley6684
@williammolley6684 Ай бұрын
Well ! Without it it’s definitely soaked with sea water when traveling. Then sitting in the hot sun. Probably helps it react to the wire. How about put silicone or something like that on the top of eye bolt and up the wire to where rubber sleeve will stop. Preventing the majority of salt water getting in the knuckle Over years it would stop an enormous amount of salt water getting to the strands in the eye bolt. Again it’s just a thought and maybe every couple years replace the rubber sleeves and re - Silicone. Ok Josh it’s just a thought. You guys have a great day Cheer

Was anticipating the title to be pun for replacing the toilet. I believe "the most important part" is a suitable anchor. Considering all this & previous work/cost, might have been a good opportunity to modify to external chain plates (prior to renovating the deck). Some Dyneema Stays would have reduced top end weight.

Hey guys, long-time subscriber and haven't commented for quite a while, but have just been watching this episode and Yoshi, something at the 6:30 mark concerned me big-time! The mark on your right jaw-line, just below your ear-lobe. If you haven't already had it checked, BY A REPUTABLE SKIN SPECIALIST, HERE IN AUSTRALIA, please get it checked out! I'm just about to get more of a melanoma on my back cut out, after the biopsy revealed that 'they' (Skin specialists) didn't get it all! Yoshi, I'm like you, spent all my life in the surf and have worked on boats (Recreationally and commercially) since I was in my teenage years, so my skin is rooted! (Constantly getting chunks cut out of me...) It only takes one mark on your skin to turn cancerous and your pretty much toast. Please do it and get a second opinion soon after, it could make all the difference! Cheers, Mick, from Avalon NSW (P.S. Lovin' your episodes! Quality content!!!)
