I wish I had seen your video before trying to change the blade on my Toro Recycler 22”. The bolt is rusted in place and every Google search I did said that the bolts on most Toro mowers were reverse thread. One response said the Recycler was reverse thread. Thanks to you I should now be able to change the blade myself. Nice job!

Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for the professional video, like everyone else it was the original blade and was pretty stuck on there. I got a breaker bar and WD40 and eventually broke it loose. Thank you for getting to the point without a lot of like and share crap.

Oh man! I am a 77-year-old female with severe arthritis and very bad eyesight up close and I had to change the blade and replace the self propelled belt on my Toro 22 inch recycler lawnmower. The belt was caught behind the adapter! i had to remove blade! I went through at least 15 videos of people changing the blade, but not a single one of them showed me the orientation of the blades to put it back on and the holder. I got caught in a bad rainstorm and I had to snatch everything up and put it in the house because I just don't like my stuff getting wet. If course, i picked up the old blade, belt, etc and covers on the pulley, etc not remembering i had them lined up and orientated in the way they went back on! Two days later, I finished putting the belt on. But for the life of me, I could not remember the orientation of the blade and the brackets etc. you were the only one who showed the blade(which i could not see because of reflection. BUT YOU told about the blade teeth tilting toward the underside of the mower! I had not tried to start the lawnmower up yet; so I go back out and sure enough I had the blade on backwards! In my defense though it did fit and screwed back on very well even though it was backwards! 😬😬I basically have to feel things with my finger tips to get them right. The blade was a challenge! it fit both ways! I just wanted to say thank you! took me two days to change a blade on the lawnmower because no one really gave the explicit placing in DETAIL! THANK you so very much from a grateful old lady!

Same here!!! My husband has dementia. Our lawn looks like Augusta National Golf Course. He has an AG degree and expert in lawn care. Now, he is unable to keep our lawn in PGA golf course beauty and I am trying to do it to keep him happy. He ran the mower over the curb last summer and damaged the blade support plate. He also stripped the bolt that hold the support plate in place. I am a Southern Belle who shops for lipstick, perfume, nail polish, shoes and purses NOT LAWN EQUIPMENT. This video is the best!!!!

Changed my blade using this video as a guide. My Toros handle bars do not turn into a stand but I flipped it up on its side. Cleaned my filter and topped off the oil while at it. This is in spring after 2 cuts, and the tip is spot on. I keep the deck on the penultimate peg for a tall grass and with the mulching over and over the years, my yard is happy and healthy.

I hadn’t changed mine in 4 years and had to put a socket wrench on there and beat it loose with a mallet. Guess I better change it every year from now on. Had no idea it was this easy.

This is a very good video for a first-time blade changer or a refresher for someone that hasn't changed a blade in a long time. I was just curios and asked at an Ace Hardware the cost to have this done this and it is $75.00.

Yes, you can just as an extra precaution. You'd have to be holding down the bar on the handle in order to start the mower, but just in case, unplugging the spark plug is a good idea!

i HAVE A TORO SUPER RECYCLER WITH A DIFFERENT BLADE COVER. I MOVED THE BRIGGS ENGINE TO A CRAFTSMAN DECK AND ADDED AN ARNOLD EXTREME UNIVERSAL BLADE AND I SAW A FEW MINUTES USING THE ARNOLD BLADE THAT THE TOOTH ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BLADE GOT BENT. CAN AN ARNOLD EXTREME UNIVERSAL BLADE BE USED ON A CRAFTSMAN DECK. THE FUNNY THING IS THE CRAFTSMAN DECK WAS HIGHER THEN THE TORO BUT THE BLADE STILL GOT BENT. ANY IDEAS OTHER THAN DECK SPACERS OR A SHORTER BLADE ADAPTOR?

Last 4 times I've mowed I've tried to get the bolt loose and failed. Good to know the bolt is not reverse threads. I'm retired and sick and don't have much energy. I like the suggestion to use a breaker bar or an impact wrench. I'd like add the suggestion to put some anti-sieze on the bolt before replacing it. If you don't have that, oil the hole and the bolt generously. You shouldn't have the same problem the next time. Like I have.

Make sure you sharpen a newly purchased blade with a beveled edge. You should sharpen your blade at LEAST twice a year, or as needed. Shredded tips can lead to fungus.
