Replacing the wheel tread on IRobot Roomba s9+ self-empty Robot Vacuum

It's very easy to get the old tires off without disassembling anything. I also was able to replace and put on the new tires by being very careful, and did not feel at risk for snapping any plastic parts or breaking anything. Maybe not for everyone. But I did two of them without much trouble. I also don't like the idea of having to drive out pins that weren't meant to be removed. Of course the safest way is the way on the video. Perhaps people could start to try it my way, and if they felt uncomfortable with working the new tire in and maybe damaging the parts, at that point switch over to this video.

It’s doable but is it worth it . Or just buy new motors . It’s definitely way cheaper and now it actually works as it should . Still a little loopy in its thinking but it does the job and docks without spinning and getting stuck trying to dock it’s self .

@@bradleyunderwood5998 We have a few rooms that mapped out super huge, I think Mr. robot thought he was on a long walk. Lol

I was able to change the tires in 10- 15 minutes each side, with only removing the motor and cover that's attached to the spring. If you're careful, you can work the new tire around and under the plastic piece that clips it into the robot and release is when you take it out, and under the little circuitboard and not have to disassemble anything else.

I seen a video of someone not taking it apart but they always skipped showing that hardest parts how they dug out the old rubber and how hard it is to get the old rubber off . Not fun and my luck I’d snap the hinge for sure . Everyone welcomes a shorter way . Good luck and choose wisely

I meant to say, only removing the motor cover that's attached to the spring, I left the motor in place attached to the whole assembly.
