If the owner of that machine ever wants that engine problem looked at i would love to see how you diagnose and isolate that diode problem. I know you suspect it but I would like to see how you test for it. Thanks for the explanation on the little flat on the bearing, I can't say that I've seen that in other videos.

That grease gun coupler is a good idea, where can I get one. And sleet on the roof you must be up here in Canada lol. Great video

Hey Mike, that coupler is a LuMax brand. I got it at my local green tractor store one day while I went in to pick up parts. I'm sure there is something the same or similar on Amazon. And yes, I'm located in Southern Ontario, Canada.

Nice one! Simply as a matter of regular procedure, I would have cleaned off the spindle and wheel hub with brake clean and applied a light coat of anti-seize to those bushings before installing them. I was surprised how readily they came out. I was expecting them to be rusted in place and requiring a press to get them out. Do they normally come out that easily (or is it your superior technique?). 😉👍🔧

They usually come out just like that, nice and easy. These spindles were full of clean grease, no sense taking that off just to put more on. Be careful with anti-seize. Some are abrasive and can accelerate wear on parts that move all the time. Thanks for the great comments!

@@Rein_Ciarfella In the bushing example, it would be ok to put it on the outside of the bushing where it touches the wheel rim, but not on the inside where it rides on the spindle.

My 2024 S130 came with bearings and not bushings.

Running steel on steel makes no sense, greased or not. I'd enlarge those bushings to accept oilite bronze bushings. What were they thinking?

Agreed. These are like a sintered metal material, not hard steel. They should wear before the spindle shaft, but that's not always the case if they never get greased. Many MTD built units have plastic bushings that wear out super fast.
