Half the time when we're making plays we aren't even talking we just know when one is actually going in or not. Great video fan, I appreciate these videos. You’re critical of your own gameplay as well (I walked into too many traps), and you’re explaining how good macro plays lead to a team being put into a position for a good micro play (i.e. a good fight or taking an objective). I think the issue is that for people who haven’t played as much as you, we have difficulty thinking simultaneously about macro play and micro play. I find myself having this problem in SL, as I pretty much steam roll through diamond cheesing people with garrosh ganks non-stop, but when I reach masters/gm and people stop messing up their positioning so much so I can’t do my shenanigans and have to actually macro, I fail :(
@fiorilli14 жыл бұрын
What i found helpful was to pick heroes that would give me a strong macro and at same time not as hard to micro "in a good level". Genji, Hanzo, Maiev, are great heroes but hard to micro and macro in same level if you arent an experienced player and feel comfortable with them, so i went to easy heroes to start learning macro. Nowadays, id pick rexxar beyond them 2, easier to your potatoes teammates to do good team fights. Boars when they are all together, cc chain your tank with misha W, and still macro the map.

It's very weird seeing your channel (this video) for the first time, as someone who hasn't ever committed to playing ranked and yet everything you are saying is stuff I both agree with and try to encourage when I play quick match. When I point things out, I'm either ignored or told I take it too seriously, etc. So much good advice here. The reason I don't play ranked is it just takes forever to get a game going, and half the time someone leaves at the end of draft and you are waiting another 5-10 minutes. Subscribed! Probably the #1 thing that pisses me off is how people will merc at the absolute wrong times or refuse to end a game when it's possible so they can chase a DVa across the map or something. This game is all about pressing the advantage

God we need more vids like this. We really need to educate the community more because this is such a common thing with many players that the skill and thought process of when things should happen, when and where to position and just the thought of what you should do next falls on deaf ears. since HGC was cancelled it has been so evident that many players don't actually know WTF is going on or how to play that it hurts. I rarely play SL solo for this reason because with my friends we're all for the most part on the same page and don't even really have to speak about what we're planning to know what some is going to do or what their thought process was

I can see where the Blaze was coming from with a lot of their macro play (not that I am excusing or refuting the mistakes) from my experience as a tank main (not to claim I am any good either) but I am frequently having to chose between soak or vision, and more often then not the soak is more valuable. It is definitely gambling with my team's lives and is definitely presuming that my team won't soak, neither of which are great, but it can be hard to play a roll that is supportive by its nature especially when you can fill other rolls at the temporary expense of your designated one. Solo queue is always going to be filled with bad plays stemmed from distrust of your team.

This is how to play it. Everyone hold one shrine as a group until u kill 2. If they have numbers up top, let them wait, u work the bottom fort and they will come down. If they don't come down, you just keep working the bottom lane.
@onkelpappkov26664 жыл бұрын
Those quizzes, as cynically as Fan is presenting them, are actually quite useful for learning. Kala did the same. _Situation A, you are here, what do you see? So where are they? And what will they do now? What's the only option they have now?_ I was in a quickmatch recently where we lost but shouldn't have. I kept dying a lot. And I remember telling my 3 strong waveclear allies to soak 3 lanes late-game because the enemy only had Muradin and Kael and we were behind in lane pressure and XP. There was one camp up bot lane and I knew they would go there. Mura was unkillable, so we couldn't contest. Raynor was in the bot lane but a safe distance away. They took the camp and I should have pinged extra but it felt obvious. Where were they going next? Well, bot lane towards our base. Raynor stood there for like 8 seconds, then got clapped by the two. Then he ranted how it's unfair that a hero like Muradin can just chain CC you forever. I said he should have run away. He said he couldn't, he was stunned. I realized then that most players, not having the Minimap DLC, don't even understand that they can move in advance. If you had done a quiz like this with the Raynor, I bet the guy would have found the answer in half a minute and that would have improved his positioning forever.

I feel like Blaze wanted a fast fights and kills when he should have just focused on peeling and passive play (because he has double support; as Fan says "you know for sure you're going to win the sustain fight"). See 32:30 he goes in on purpose to pressure Junkrat instead of just pressuring their divers who are engaging Sylvanas. Blaze is trying to play the wrong role. If he hugs Sylvanas he even gets to share Auriel heals.

Ya know, while I originally thought this was nit-picking... that just is the difference at high rank. The small mistakes add up to be major ones in the long term
@onkelpappkov26664 жыл бұрын
Yeah. In the end, it's two supposedly equal teams battling it out. The team that's consistently better wins. So small mistakes matter. There is always a comeback (6.5) but when those mistakes compound, the other team simply wins because they made less and lesser mistakes. The important thing, what Fan does, is point it out without losing his mind. In lower ranks, pings are incredibly helpful. It is frustrating when players don't follow them but it's important to just carry on and not quit there and start discussing it. "Why" questions lead nowhere. Insults lead nowhere. "Do bruisers fast" helps. "Don't fight obj we 19" helps. (I mean, the guy gets annoyed but ehhh, he's holding back so much.)

Having played thousands of vs. Elite AI games there are two things that could have fixed this situation. 1. Don’t pick more than one healer/support when teaming up with one or more potatoes. 🏥 🏥 🥔 2. Pick 3 assassins because more guns is better than good guns. 🔫 🔫 🔫
@onkelpappkov26664 жыл бұрын
I really like AI games. They're a good chill training environment for landing skillshots and testing combos on moving targets. What doesn't get trained ever is macro. Bots never defend, always feed and they don't respond to player weakness. So a team of glass cannons just runs over any amount of AI everytime. Bots are so bad, you never have to take camps or hit structures to win the game. You can walk through bot lane and siege core in 7 minutes or less if you want. If you accidentally take boss, the lane is gone along with half the core. And yet, AI games are much more enjoyable than most QM games because of most people being chill and enjoying the game, like they should, even if the opponents are stronger. I feel like, if some effort was put in making AI just a biiit of a struggle to overcome, if bots just put in an ounce of resistance, players might automatically learn about taking camps and watching their positioning. But since bots don't do it, players don't do it. Players then go to QM and there, nobody does it. Then you do ranked and people have this skewed mix of "this is how I did it so far" and "this is how professional players do it". But pimping training mode costs money and Blizzactivision don't give a fock.

@bcfisk4 жыл бұрын
I've seen very few good tank players, you kind of need to be playing chess all the time while the dmg is playing checkers (see enemy, hit enemy). But, you can be decent if you just try to stay at or near the front of your team (usually, some exceptions like Anub can be used as a counter-engager) and hold your abilities until they are useful (don't W and E with Johanna on cooldown). Really can't teach someone to play in a youtube comment, too many variables (when to anchor, when to engage, when to peel, when to initiate, when to counterengage, when to disengage, where to be on the map, what to do when your team isn't following up, it's endless). Just keep watching higher-level players who seem to know what they're doing.

If you see your Blaze F up on every chance you should know that you have to give either a) more instructions/pings or b) back them up so the "I think they win" turn into "i make sure they win". You a absolutly correct that there were massive misplays at hand and everything went far from optimal or efficient but when the main DD is dying to positioning you can expect the rest of the four man have little chances to constest anything. You both tilted early and thats results in the lose. Both of you took part in that to be honest.
