I wish, personally, that the doctors who help with ptsd would not rely so heavily on meds; and look for other forms of therapy. My veteran pal had terrible reactions to the meds he took; he was not keen on them but it seemed there were no alternatives... I have no idea what alternatives might be available but it might be worth having a look around for instance meditation? sports? yoga? prayer? different diet; say stopping booze and sugar... I know one therapist got the young vets jogging and another told me meditation was better than any med.

Would be nice if our veterans didn't have to struggle to find housing and adequate mental health support. We sure like to pat ourselves on the back here in Canada while never actually living up to the standards we like to pretend we have. We say "lest we forget" every year, but our elected officials have obviously forgotten.
