Effective 07/20/2021, the fcc altered the rules for officially qualifying as an astronaut to screw them out of the distinction. New Eligibility Requirements. To be eligible for FAA Commercial Space Astronaut Wings, commercial launch crew members must meet the following criteria: a. Meet the requirements for flight crew qualifications and training under Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) part460. b. Demonstrated flight beyond 50 statute miles above the surface of the Earth as flight crew on an FAA/AST licensed or permitted launch or reentry vehicle. c. It just shows they trained their actors to behave more convincingly than the crew of astronauts(armstrong, aldrin...) sitting at the press conference after returning from the moon saying they could see only deep blackness and no stars at all. They looked like they had all just buried their dogs five minutes beforehand. So that's pointed out and now we have this group of performers acting giddy like schoolchildren. Yeah it's absurd, even the guy in glasses on the launch stream (Gary Lai) said they are confident they can stick New Glenn's landing on the very first try LOL

It has to do with reaction time. Think about the pencil vs. broomstick analogy. When you realize the item is off-balance and move your finger to recover, it takes a moment - with the larger, heavier broomstick you can still get there in time, but the pencil gets away from you before you have time to react. The sensors and computers driving engine gimbals and/or RCS thrusters are the same way - the correction can happen slower with a bigger vehicle.

Well done Blue Origin 👏 Now there's no denying this flight reached the beginning of real space having surpassed the Kármán Line (100kms). Unlike another recent flight that was 14kms short. 😁

🧠Like I always repeat .. Rock&RocketRoll 🤘😎👍 I feel so lucky to live this moment, in this era of our long long history of discoverers, explorers, and voyagers ❤ Congratulations to Blue Origin team.. all the engineers and all the other employee, even the guy who clean the Shop at the end of the day 🍻BRAVO Van Jones's story makes me feel human, an human Brother of all the peoples of planet Earth....Wow.. The message behind this event is one of the most touching I ever heard since the We Are the World wave in the 80s. What's the first time for me that I listen monsieur Bezos as a human like everybody the only thing I knew from him was from General news and article from everyday journals who's not giving a real sense of who he was, as a human believing with effort, and working with the World !! You have a beautiful family and today I felt like I was a part of you all.. I'm a french-canadian fan of blue origin following this project on KZbin helped me learn a bit more English language.. 🤘😁and I almost felt in love with Texan accent !!

Excellent awards presentation and press conference today, showing the aspirations for a better world. Congratulations to Jeff Bezos, the flight team, the emcee (who hosted the entire broadcast this morning), and the communication's director! As SENRA, we also appreciate attention to fuels and their effects on the environment with parties who also wish to return to bicycles from automobiles, and goals of all electric vehicles (from hybrids). We appreciated knowing about Bezos Earth Foundation, but (never say but was in!) we expect to be part of a profitable publishing industry, not one that decides for us where contributions will be made "at our business lives"! We are among the women who had Robinhood from men who took our property, and redistributed to others, mainly women! Julie Ann Racino, Cornell University Class of 1975! Celebrating 150 years of Cornell University, home of new Gate's engineering building.
