This insanely dangerous practice by JSO can only happen because the authorities are complicit. It is unconscionable that the politicians and authorities allow this to happen as legal protests do not include breaking the law, in this case traffic laws. Any behavioral scientist will tell you that when people get frustrated because their lives are being disrupted; they can't get to the hospital or to a job that they need, or to a prearranged meeting that is vital for their livelihood or business, they will lash out, sometimes violently exposing themselves to arrest. All the while the ones causing all this mayhem to begin with and breaking the laws are allowed to continue. Outrageous!

They can't, you need an "Officier de Police Judiciaire" to notify them they're trespassing, give them resonable time to comply (usually a minute) and then only they can be arrested, it's the law. No, that's the law. Those guys have rights too, and be certain they'll abuse the system to pretend they have been "molested" by angry drivers. There's a special procedure in France to notify them thry're trespassing, and that's the guy the yellow-jacket police were waiting for. Once the guy has given the authorisation, the BRAV-M police can work with all necessary force, including usage of weapons. Before that, they must maintain the Order and prevent road users from committiong something they'd regret all their lives.

They may say words to individuals who move the protesters, but they seem to do nothing to appease the crowd and call for calm, reassuring people of the law and the need to be patient. That is a giant fail on their part in my opinion, both from doing their job of keeping the peace, and from a public relations point of view to protect their reputation as effective and worthwhile.

Ce qui est vraiment lamentable c’est tous ces bouffons de personnes qui tirent et s’en prennent aux manifestants au lieu de se mettre avec eux pour défendre la cause qui concerne tout le monde . Et vraiment ces conars qui déplacer les manifestants hommes et femmes violemment c’est honteux !! D’ailleurs c’est pour ça que rien ne change et rien ne bouge dans ce pays ; car une partie du peuple manifeste et se prends les coups de matraque et le gaz etc… et l’autre partie continue à vivre comme ci ; y’avait rien du tout … Honte à tous ces bouffons qui ne se joignent pas aux manifestants qui défendent une cause qui concerne tout le monde !! Non. Ils suivent les procédures. Et c'est heureux. Sinon, c'est le farwest. Seul les gendarmes mobiles ou les CRS sont compétents pour traiter cette manifestation. Ils sont sensés être formés (qu'ils le soient bien ou mal n'est pas la question). Les policiers de voie publique ne le sont pas. D'autre part, il ne sont pas en nombre suffisant. D'après ce que l'on voit, ils font tous correctement leur TRAVAIL. En particulier, de calmer les automobiliste légitimement énervés. Si vous n'êtes pas content de ce cirque, adressez vous à nos politiques. Ne venez pas pleurnicher sur les FDO dont vous ne connaissez pas grand chose. Notez que je soutiens ce genre de manifestation et suis particulièrement admiratif du courage incroyable de ces manifestants.
