The fact they are talking at the same time is precisely why they didn't use subtitles. It would be extremely hard to make subs for people who talk independently at the same time. It would also be confusing for the reader. The respective speeches would have to be drastically shortened so as not to cause discomfort. Simultaneous interpretation makes it possible to translate the whole speech as it is rendered.

Why is it hard to find one with english subtitles vs english translation? I would understand if the english translation was coming straight from someone who is translating it as it happened, but if they are translating after the event. I would think it would be easier to simply translate it via subs. The benefits are much greater: we don't need to pay that much attention to what is going on visually so having to read isn't troubling vs. something like a tv show, those who are deaf and hard of hearing can use them, we can still hear the changes in voice and tone of the original speakers, no stumbling and cleaner translation vs speaking, listening and writing a language is more often easier than listening and speaking.

It is difficult to follow with two people speaking at the same time - particularly if you speak/understand BOTH languages as one's brain struggles as to which to listen to whereas we can easily listen and read at the same time with some integration.

I watched the full debate. I would support Le Pen if I was in France because she is against open borders and massive uncontrolled illegal immigration. She also correctly realizes the threat posed by radical Islamic terrorism and the Islamization of France. She is standing up for Western and French values and I applaud her for that. Macron does not realize the serious threat of radical Islamic terrorism and Islamization of France. Massive immigration and lack of integration has also caused serious harm to the country. I do not see Macron owning up to this, Le Pen sees this. Plus Le Pen is anti-European Union and pro French sovereignty. That is enough to sway me. Macron wants greater integration with the EU or in other words more power to unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats. This is anathema to me. I would vote for Le Pen. Yes she is a nationalist, but having pride in your country does not make you right wing or a Nazi. If that is the case then you could label me that as well for loving my country and having pride in it. Yes there are some controversies surrounding her, her family and party but she seemed to have cleaned up her act and is not the Nazi or far right extremist that the media or people opposed to her portray her as. I would hope the French vote for her. The future is in their hands. Vote Wisely French. Au Revior Au Demain!
