舞台は宇宙開拓時代。このゲームの主人公「ロディー」と「キャシー」は名うての賞金稼ぎだ。2人の故郷の惑星が高額賞金首の宇宙海賊「クラプトン」に襲われたことから物語がはじまる。この「トップハンター」は、美しいグラフィックが印象的な、横スクロールタイプのアクションゲームである。操作は8方向レバーで移動、3つのボタンは攻撃、ジャンプ、ラインの移動に使用する。また、攻撃コマンド入力による必殺技や、ボタンを押し続けて、手を伸ばしたりできるのが特徴。
ストーリー:
時は、宇宙開拓時代―宇宙海賊クラプトンの拠点カルテット・スターズ（四連惑星）に潜入した２人の男女がいた。その名はロディー＆キャシー。通称「トップハンター」、宇宙を旅する凄腕の賞金稼ぎである。彼らの目的は、故郷の惑星を滅ぼしたクラプトンを倒し、莫大な賞金を得ること。行く手には、クラプトン率いる海賊軍団と罠が待ち受けている。「トップハンター」のプライドを賭けた2人の復習劇が、遂に始まった！！

The game borrows plenty of ideas from many of SNK's most popular fighting games at the time of its release. The two-plane stages were first used in "Fatal Fury - King of Fighters", also Roddy & Cathy feature special moves that fans of "Fatal Fury - King of Fighters" and "Art of Fighting" are sure to recognize!
Pony Canyon / Scitron released a limited-edition soundtrack album for this game (Top Hunter - Shisekai Gakkyoku Zatsugidan - PCCB-00157) on July 21, 1994.

God, i remember this game, this one was my favorite in my childhood, the mechanics was so good and i like the little details at the back of the stages. My favorite OST in this game is from Big Man, i like that sinister aura.
