Hello Broma, love your videos! However, I’ve seen the match yesterday, and in order to replicate how Italy played, I would suggest using a 4-2-3-1 with di Lorenzo very close to the centre and di Marco very high (as you did; I would almost suggest to move him to LM, because yesterday he was in fact an attacker), Barella and Jorginho as the two playmakers with Barella more free to move forward) and then move the CAM to RAM (Frattesi) and then the LW to LAM (Pellegrini), with both the AM set to drift wide; doing so you will create a 3-2-4-1 which is how Italy played yesterday. Hope it helped!

Thanks! As I spoke about in the video at length, if you move Pellegrini and Frattesi up to attacking midfield, it doesn’t replicate the shape out of possession, so unfortunately that wouldn’t work at all. Dimarco will also push up just fine without being changed to LM, but won’t show for the ball deep enough in the defensive and middle third, therefore that also wouldn’t work.
