Replicating an Enduro Route at my Local Trails?

With a lot of enduro events being postponed or cancelled this year, and not being able to get up to the Tweed Valley just yet to get some big enduro days in, I decided to see if it was possible to come up with a route of my own at my local trails. Despite having ridden these trails countless times over the years, it was interesting to see what I could come up with! I was happy to piece together some descents of decent length to test the fitness levels out. Hope you enjoy!

Cheers mate, glad you enjoy the videos! I could try doing something like that, Tommy C recently did a video which covered the other main off-piste ones. They seem to be seeing a lot more traffic than usual recently, so fingers crossed the forestry don't decide to get rid of them again 🤞

Great video as always. There’ll never be another enduro here again, Forestry are very against off piste trails, especially here at Whinlatter. I raced the first enduro, you got beer and food also. It was an amazing day!

Thanks buddy 👍 Yeah I've spent a lot time over the years frustrated with the forestry around The Lake District in general to be honest, forever taking down incredible trails. There's been some big channels doing videos of the trails around here though recently. Not sure if that's for better or worse but I wish forestry would see the potential and how more advanced trails bring a wider variety of people.

District Mountain Biker I know a number of the big race organisers, working on media for one and their frustrations are always the same. Completely restricted in the majority. Come race a PMBA and seek me out!

Great video mate, hoping to get up there in August sometime :) And the bottom section of the north loop looks amazingly buttery smooth! (I have only done the south a couple and the blue about 90 times)

Yeah that bottom section of the North can be so fast and flowy! The middle section on the south loop is too mind. Worth a good explore around as there's quite a bit on offer. Thanks for watching mate 👍

where you came out off the 1st bit of enduro on the north take a left 100+ meters up look on the right and head down there👌

Yeah I've done those a good few times, usually hold ridiculous amounts of water though so gave them a miss on this occasion. I'm literally baffled at how to ride that stuff in the wet! Might add one in with a sprint up the forest road next time if I really want to knacker myself 😂

I've been using MSC Tyres for a couple of years, particularly the Hot Seat, but the Gripper is a good choice too when you don't need something quite as aggressive. Usually opt for the softer compounds for extra grip especially in the wet 👍

Just got my first full suspension today and going to be heading up to Whinlatter but I have no idea what and where to go I’m from maryport so any tips?

Depends on what level of riding you're used to I suppose. Starting on the blue route you can then join on to the south red loop, the middle section of that is pretty flowy and probably the next step from the blue. I'd then say after that the north and top section of the south are the most technical of the official trails. If you use Trailforks it's fairly easy to find your way around on there, and there's a trail map on site too 👍 I'd get through all of those before you go looking for the off-piste trails. But like I say this is all dependant on skill level. You might be fine to just get started on the trickier ones 👍

Hey man I’ve been looking at buying a new bike recently and the 3 that I’ve narrowed it down to were a norco sight a2, trek remedy 8 or a Merida one sixty. Ik you have experience with atleast 2 of those bikes so I would really love to hear what they’re like and which you would personally go for

I can't comment on the Norco but if I had to choose between the Trek and Merida again I'd probably choose the Merida. The Trek is super capable but the Merida feels a bit more slack, playful which is more my style 👍
