When I watched episodes 11&12 I couldn't resist to vid this couple again! Seriously, now that Deok Sun/ Soo Yeon is showing she likes Junghwan back I wonder when did it start. I believe she liked him from the beginning even before her crush on Sun Woo (remember her diary?). Who knows? Maybe she kept it secret thinking she had no chance with him... #TeamJunghwan fighting!

The first time I watched, I have never seen Taek as a love interest because for me, Deuk sun treated him with motherly love and the gang treats him like their baby. So I was really surprised nearing the end but Now that I'm rewatching, IT ALL MADE SENSE. Even Jung hwan acknowledged that it's not really the timing that hindered him, it was all his hesitations. Taek never hesitated and DK and him had a lot of genuine happy memories together esp. at Taek's competition. My heart aches but my mind accepts the reason of it all.

Exactly. I'm sad, but I know that Taek and Deoksun are perfect. Not to mention I don't think Deoksun subconsciously ever liked or fell in love with Jung Hwan. She started having a crush SOLELY because her friends told her, exactly like Sun woo's case. She never initially showed any feelings. Not to mention, when she started making moves on him, he constantly shut her down every moment he got, never reciprocating anything. On the other hand, she always had a soft side for Taek. Even when he kissed her at first, she is too flustered and lies that it is a dream because she doesn't want to face the truth, she is confused. Finally when he confronts, she acts shy, blushes, reasons with Taek and falls deeply when he kisses her. When they date, they hardly fight, bicker, they're compatible. Jung hwan finds every reason to get into bickering with her, and even though that is his language, Deok sun, who's always neglected and made fun of doesn't like it nor falls for it. When she writes the letter and Sun woo indirectly rejects her, Jung hwan is happy, he doesn't feel sad for Deksun, but is content that he can secretly crush on her. But as soon as Taek gets to know about it, he immediately slaps Sun woo in the back from anger. He's disappointed with her. He's hurt when she's hurt. That's love. We, the viewers, swoon and fall in love with Jung hwan because he is the perfect stone cold, handsome, shy male lead. The fairytale guy. But Taek is the one in real life. Who is with you in think and think. Who laughs with you, cries with you, is shamelessly proud and in live with you and doesn't hide it. ♥

Not only because of his hesitations he has his own prioritise. He is to selfless always think about others than himself. He always think ahead among his friends, he thinks too much, he cares too much and most importantly he love someone too much. Did anyone noticed how heartbroken and depressed he was for years? He loved her so much that he did a lot of things he didn't do to anyone before. Imagine loving someone for years and no one knew about it. He keep it to himself imagine how much he thinks about her all day. He also became even more quiet than before.

If you rewatch you will see the ending really made sense. She loves Taek right at the beginning before she really knows it. For Junghwan she just though she like him because her friends told her Junghwan liked her. She is crazy about food and Jungwan's mom served everyone steak she must be crazy about it but she still waited to make sure Taek eat his food before she left. Not only so, but she also stayed a bit longer and let him boss her around. The parents said they all the time hand in hand since they were small. Her sister also said they all the time wanted to be with each other.

As much as my heart aches for Jung Hwan, i never saw him and Deok Sun ending up together. Right from the beginning, i just knew it would be Taek. It was all the little things: when everyone made fun of Deok Sun when she wore the Hanbok, Taek called her pretty; he never hesitated to admit to the others that he liked her; she was the only person he was truly calm around and comfortable with. As much as Jung Hwan loved her, Taek made the first move and was proactive in trying to obtain her. Maybe she didn't like him right from the beginning but she grew to love him, you can see it in the little things too; the way she took care of him on their trip to China, the little moments when shes thinking about him and wondering if he's okay and the most obvious clue at all, the first episode where she herseld foreshadows their marriage and I think thats why this drama is absolutely amazing. The build up to the relationships is so realistic snd authentic. There's nothing ground-breaking or dramatic, it's simply 5 friends growing up and 2 people slowly falling in love, its beautiful. Okay I'm going to stop ranting now, byeeeee :)

The concern Deoksun has for Taek, for me, felt like more of a brother-sister relationship, not lovers. It didn't feel like there was a spark even with all the caring and the justification from the staff and writer. Hehe. That's just like genuine concern for a friend, nothing more. But I understand too the realness behind the ending. There will be no love if there is no first step. Taek did all the first steps and Junghwan always had his other foot stopping him (which is why it's the most painful thing!!). Realistically, love grows when nurtured... even from the beginning, it wasnt clear who Deok-sun wanted - it was not even made clear whether she liked Taek during that time of DyongRyong talk. But it was Taek's love that glued everything together. It's just so painful that Junghwan had the same chances to take the first step and nurture that love. But he didnt have the heart to do it... and so, Taek, who was more steadfast and decisive, got Deok-sun. Junghwan is like the summer fling that could have been... while Taek is the all seasons present, ready to love guy, whatever it takes. (I feel my heart getting lighter for being able to write that hahaha sorry that i had to comment on your comment hehe)

That moment in ep 18 when jung hwan confessed her feelings to deok sun. I feel the pain in my heart because he takes it as a joke in the end. It fely so reallll omg 😭😭😭 He is very sincere. My heart broke to a million pieces for Junghwan. For me he is the epitome of 2nd lead syndrome But i also understand why Duk Seon had to chose Taek. Junghwan's love for Duk seon was palpable in the viewer's end. Thats why we love him so much. But it isnt entirely the case for DS if you'll put urself in her shoes. After JH knew that Taek also likes DS, he had to back down and sometimes, almost cruelly, avoided DS deliberately, while breaking his heart in the process. Remember the scene during stargazing with his hyung that JH wished if only Taek is a jerk. He was so conflicted and heartbroken over friendship vs love. Duk seon on the other hand felt JH care for her and opened up to Junghwan, even initiated some moves. She was basically in love with JH with all the efforts she made. But by that time, JH tried to avoid her because of Taek. But DS does not know that. She was confused and hurt for the mixed signals. The story goes on with a series of JH missed chances and hesitations which actually disheartened me. JH affections to her were never reaffirmed. After she thought that JH gave to his brother her gift to him, and JH wasnt able to clarify it, the feelings DS had for JH also slowly quelled. She thought that JH never really liked her just as she had misread Sunwoo before. That it was just a fluke. Taek on the other hand is more simple minded. He likes DS, he makes a move. And altho Taek also gave up on DS upon learning JH feelings, he was able to leave an impression on DS because of that kiss. Years after, the score between JH and Taek is 0:0 level ground. Or is it? For DS, she already concluded that JH doesnt like her, but had lingering questions on Taek's feelings.She just doesnt want their friendship to be awkward hence her silence. On that concert day, JH and Taek both raced to DS. But Taek got there first. I was really blaming the traffic lights too, that made JH late. But what JH said made sense. It wasnt fate or timing that is to blame. But all his many hesitations. Like the metaphor of the game Baduk, JH played black and had the first advantage, but Taek played it more decisively. It was a clear loss for JH and thats how he was able to accept it. His confession, atlast, made me cry a river. We waited for it too long only to be too late. JH knew that DS already liked Taek. He confessed and poured his heart but at the end made it seem like joke. It was his honesty and also his goodbye to his first love and ending it with a joke to not make DS, Taek and his friends to feel bad and awkward. In the end, he still kept his pain to himself. And that, my friend, is exactly what broke our hearts. Our consolation is that our Jung Hwan is the pick of Duk seon in real life. 😍😍😍

I watched this drama a little over 2 years ago. I slept on it when it first came out. I love Bogummy so much. I have seen his dramas more. But this R88, I was team Junghwan till the end. When I watched that confession in episode 18, I cried fire. When I read the backstory about how DeokSeon wanted it to be JH and not Taek and cried so much they had to stop shooting for a while, I resumed my crying. I watched episode 19 and 20 because the drama is fantastic, mind blowing and one of the best there is out there. All side stories and fillers are very sweet and funny and yet, sad. YeolRi gave me the happy ending I wanted. #YeolRi fighting!!

Reading the comments without watching the drama reminds me of Dawson’s Creek Tv series. Dawson was Joey’s first love, but Pacey was her Great Love. They were all best friends, but like Taek, the build up of their love story had so many twist and turn, but I’ve always rooted for the person who I thought the second lead, but turn out to be the first lead as he won her heart.

No one can say me he is second lead. He was absolute main lead for straight 18 episodes. I always thought Doek-sun married with him for 18 eps. We watchhed their story, Taek was not even there so many times. Then something happened and they changed the main lead or we can say second lead won because he was more brave to admit his love. I was hurted bc they didn’t even show him in last 2 eps! At least they should have writen him a good end. So dissappointed.

Adivinar el actor adulto sin que se acabara el drama, era muy confuso, puesto que este actor ya no era tan tímido como Taek, y, además, actuaba con la rudeza de Jung Hwan. Este drama fue perfectamente hecho y confundieron muy bien a los televidentes. La verdad fue difícil adivinar quién era en realidad el esposo adulto. El personaje tenía cosas de las personalidades de ambos, de Taek y de JH. Es uno de los mejores dramas familiares que he visto y uno de mis favoritos, en general.

People are commenting why Doek Sun chose Taek over Jung Hwan? I mean isn't it obvious that Jung Hwan had a lot more chances to confess his love than Taek.. Taek wasn't even there for half of the show even when Jung Hwan knew that Doek Sun feels the same way for him he still didn't have guts to take a step closer naturally Doek Sun will move on she never really had true feeings for him she just thought she had just like when she thought Sun Wo likes her and she started liking him same happened with Jung Hwan.. Doek Sun was always more attentive towards Taek more than anyone including herself but she never realized that she loved him and if Jung Hwan had the guts to confess his love she would've never gone to Taek because at that time she was only looking at Jung Hwan... I was satisfied with the end because Taek was the one who never cared about anything when it came to loving Doek Sun and that is the kind of guy Doek Sun deserved ❤ yes I felt bad for Jung Hwan but he brought it upon himself
