I have to agree with Nick on the situation if we don't get Soto. There has to be backup plans right off the bat and have some pivots to other small areas on the team like the bullpen.

They need to focus on signing Guerrero, I don’t think it’s a smart thing to do to have one Soto be the highest paid player on your team coming in as a free agent

Vladdy still doesn’t have an extension .. any Free agent looking at the jays can see how inept the front office is. No one is singing here until they know they are serious about spending money , making the right trade and competing

I feel like if Soto does sign here that obviously it would be an amazing thing, but it would almost be a slap in the face to Vladdy for not extending him first who has bled for this team the past 6 years.

Rogers already spent their MLB free agency money today when they bought Bell out for 4.7 BILLION dollars. They aren't going to extend VLAD or sign any top free agents. This is going to be a brutal off season as a Jays fan as I believe ROGERS has quit on this team.

The Jays could afford three players in the 80-90 million dollar range Springer, Vladdy, Bo/Santander if they drafted and developed players well. They don't. This is where they need to improve.

Here we go again, pursuing a player that has no intention of coming to Toronto. Signing Vladdy, and finding some decent pitchers for the worst bullpen in baseball should be Atkins top priorities, not this Soto nonsense.

The only chance the Jays have at Soto (slim at best) is if they first sign Vlad. Soto will not want to be here on his own. He will want core certainly, like the Yankees have with Judge. I don't think there's a chance that Soto leaves New York if they offer him his number.

Look at Cleveland, Baltimore, past TB rays teams etc. unless the Jays are going to go top 5 payroll or better signing a guy like Soto is a mute point. Look at the Angels that had trout and Ohtani at the same time and did nothing. If it's in the context of a real team strategy....ok. but just to throw a ton of money at him and put him on the team that has no direction or whatever I think would be a dumb move.

I agree we shouldn’t put all our eggs in the Juan Soto basket. There weren’t a lot of good hitters in the 2023 free agent class, but there are lots of good free agents this year!

Jays should spend 700 million on Bo and Vladdy and then focus on the bullpen forget about soto we have great young players to play the outfield

The Jays should just give up on Soto. Let Yankees, Mets, Phillies and Red Sox fight over him. I would way rather have two guys like Anthony Santander, Marcel Ozuna, or Teoscar Hernandez compared to one Juan Soto. They have to sign Vladdy long term first though, otherwise those kind of hitters won’t want to come to Toronto.

I'm sorry. I DONT CARE about reports. I wanted the upper managenement and more so john Schneider fired after last year's insanity. I'm a life long jays fan and I won't watch until they are all fired. As I said many years now. Letting AA go was their biggest mistake as a franchise.
