Sir can you explain please..how to generate views in reports if you want to join 10 tables before we have to create view right but how ?
@HarshaTrainingsacademy Жыл бұрын
In Pega, generating views in reports involves creating a Data Page to retrieve data from multiple tables and then configuring a Report Definition to use that Data Page as a source. The Data Page can be considered as a logical construct that fetches and holds data, while a Report Definition defines how to present and filter that data. Here are the general steps you can follow to achieve this: ### Step 1: Create a Data Page 1. **Open Dev Studio:** - Launch Pega's Dev Studio and navigate to the "Records" explorer. 2. **Create Data Page:** - Create a new Data Page by selecting "Data Model" > "Data Page" and clicking "Create." 3. **Define Data Source:** - In the Data Page form, specify the "Source" as "Report Definition" and configure the data source settings. 4. **Configure Data Source:** - In the "Report Definition" tab, specify the necessary filters, joins, and data mappings to retrieve data from the 10 tables. ### Step 2: Create Report Definition 1. **Open Report Definition:** - Navigate to "Records" > "Technical" > "Report Definition" and click "Create" to create a new Report Definition. 2. **Define Columns:** - Define the columns you want to display in the report. These columns should align with the data mappings in your Data Page. 3. **Configure Data Access:** - In the "Data Access" tab, select "Data Page" as the source and choose the Data Page you created in Step 1. 4. **Define Joins:** - If additional joins or filtering is needed, configure them in the "Joins" tab. ### Step 3: Test and Optimize 1. **Test the Data Page:** - Validate the Data Page by testing it in the "Data Explorer" to ensure it retrieves the expected data. 2. **Test the Report Definition:** - Test the Report Definition to confirm that it retrieves and displays the data as intended. 3. **Optimize Performance:** - If dealing with a large dataset, consider optimizing the performance of your Data Page by configuring caching and pagination settings. ### Step 4: Implement Views in UI 1. **Add a Report Viewer:** - In your UI, add a Report Viewer component and configure it to use your Report Definition. 2. **Configure Layout:** - Configure the layout of the Report Viewer to display the columns defined in your Report Definition. 3. **Test in UI:** - Test the report in your application UI to ensure it displays the data from the joined tables correctly. By following these steps, you can create a Data Page and Report Definition that join data from multiple tables and use them to generate views in your application. Keep in mind that the specific steps may vary based on your Pega version and application requirements.

Hi Harsha, I have a report in production which will display the customer age currently. Now there is a change requested from business that they don't want age column to be display as in number, instead they wanted to have it in text with below criteria. If customer age is < 30 then age column in the report should display as LOW and if age is >30 and 50 age column in the report should display as HIGH. Now the question is how will going to achieve this one as we need to take care of in-flight cases and old cases?

Hello , I have one query regarding case type list we get when we create new report My case type is not present in the list , index class is present but not work class Could you please help me.
@HarshaTrainingsacademy9 ай бұрын
It seems like you're encountering an issue where the Work class is not appearing in the list of available case types when creating a new report. This could be due to several reasons: 1. **Access Permissions**: Ensure that your user profile has the necessary permissions to access and report on Work class instances. Sometimes, access restrictions can prevent certain classes from appearing in lists. 2. **Configuration**: Check the application configuration to ensure that the Work class is configured correctly for reporting. There might be settings or configurations that are preventing it from appearing in the list. 3. **Class Inheritance**: Verify that the Work class inherits from a class that is eligible for reporting. If it doesn't directly inherit from a class that's reportable, it might not appear in the list. 4. **Customization**: If your application has been heavily customized, it's possible that there are customizations affecting the visibility of the Work class in the reporting interface. Review any customizations made to the reporting functionality. 5. **Cache**: Sometimes, changes to class configurations or permissions might not reflect immediately due to caching. Try clearing the cache or restarting the application server to see if the issue persists.
