If I assume correct, the city failed to ensure the interior demolition outfit knew of the charged gas line, presence and location but will foist responsibility on the building's owner. Do I assume correct? Yes, I know what can happen when assumptions are made.

While that might be a reason down the road. Ultimately you don’t want an uncontrolled collapse hitting the adjacent structures. It could lean, buckle, or twist on the way down. So, keeping everyone away is best.

"Imminent danger"... people are just running in to grab their stuff though! 🤣 Right... and the tanker cars in East Palestine needed to be "immediately" burned to avoid an "imminent" explosion. Did they consult the same "experts" who came up with the 6' distance for the 'VID?

Why was the gas not shut off. Who gave permits. Who was doing the work? Once again experts fail.

The gas was shut off. The reports are public. It was an abandoned gas line.

@@nilpo That was not shut off.
@nilpo5 ай бұрын
@@UQRXD Yes, it was. It has been shut off for decades. But the line was still pressurized.

@@nilpo So the line should of been checked any way for safety. Valves can leak. I am thinking it was a pretty big line also. Why was it not depressurized and disconnected from system. Experts.

@@UQRXD Abandoned lines are incredibly common. Especially in older buildings. This building is over 100 years old. I have no doubt that the infrastructure has changed many times. I agree with you. I didn't think the line should have been pressurized. The mistake that caused this may have been made decades ago.
