Strange that we have a disconnect despite not having starters or even good backups in the transfer portal and a top 3 recruiting class. BK is right about the back end being the biggest problem. The DTs are limited in ability but are playing mostly technique sound and with effort . Which is all you can ask for as a coach. Yes we are improving in coverage but in run support they are not good. The Safeties are too often out of position or miss open field tackles and it’s why these long runs are turning into home runs. And the corners rarely seal the edge or make the tackle in space on the edge. The LBs also often are not disciplined with their rush lanes and are getting out of position. 40 was the biggest reason for the 66 yard outside TD run in the second half. He got washed up inside and had to chase the play.

I think LSU will be better prepared to play Ole Miss than Ole Miss will be to play LSU , just because LSU has played tougher opponents and has a bye week right before playing Ole Miss and Ole Miss doesn’t have a bye week before they play LSU , we are better prepared through competition as this team continues to ascend as the season moves along , we aren’t perfect In personnel but I think we will get the job done at home , LSU will play 3 power 4 teams and Ole Miss will play none

Caden Durham is that guy at rb. Been following him since his sophomore season at Duncanville he really showed he was that guy his Jr yr. Was definitely underrated should’ve easily been a 5star recruit is showing that now and will continue to show it. Young man is a leader in the locker room and on and off the field. He is that guy at rb. Hopefully Caleb Jackson starts seeing the field better when hitting the holes and not running into contact when not needed. Josh Williams continues to make big plays when needed. Continue to get positive plays out of the JuJuan Johnson and hopefully get Trey Holly back sooner than later.

Whether this is true or not. I was thinking on these lines for the first time since Brian Kelly has been here at LSU . Especially the last 2 years all you really hear about is how things are fixable with the players playing better but it is really never happened on the defensive side of the ball. So mama got to wandering why they really can't seem to fix what seems to be small coaching problems with the players to play better in the scheme and to know the scheme. It's bad to get outcoached almost every single game including Nichols. LSU is paying way too much for this to happen. Special teams continues to be awful and looks uncoached even on just simple rules of that part of the game. But I'm just waiting for this team to actually come out and play decently. We have zero discipline on this team and very much need better strength and conditioning because we get pushed around by so many teams that we've NEVER gotten pushed around by. And this is BK's whole tenure here. At least he elected to defer after winning the toss. So that's a simple improvement. But offensive playcalling has to get better and more creative.

CBS sports/Pate or whoever is the source is just talking outside of their heads. It’s what national talk sports guys do. Very rarely are their comments like this based on reality. If they ever talked to a “source” it could be a disgruntled employee and who knows how high up they are. What’s not adding up is we lack talent on defense and our OC is not a great play caller and our RB coach has a track record of being slow to understand how to rotate his backs effectively and play his best RB more than the others and our LBs and S lack eye and play call discipline.
