The FUTURE is NOW... Max Christie, Dalton Knecht, Austin Reaves - trade the damn picks for a young big man: Wendell Carter Jr or Walker Kessler, like MEOW!!! 🙀🙀🙀

Danny Ainge will not trade Kessler to the Lakers without fleecing them. Never will happen.

Reaves does have a manageable contract. Would love to see him get stronger and work on his handle and court vision

Off Topic, but kudos to you two. The ability to riff off who is the doctor of political candidates reminds me of how broad your knowledge base is. Sounds like a small thing until one goes around The David Lockaverse. There are quite a few Lockites who are fish out of water beyond Basketball talk. Again thanks for being you, I felt I was in the right place to get my insights and proper perspective on nba and Laker news of the day, respect 😐👍🏿

Andy, I would argue the Organization has gotten themselves in "this position" because they've been chasing the "how can we get LeBron another title" pressure. Whether its really, talked about internally or not, the fanbase and public are talking all the time about the Lakers making moves to get LeBron another chip. It doesn't work that way. The Organization pays players to perform and puts them in position to be successful. The Lakers biggest mistake has be impatience and making decisions to appease players. Russell Westbrook is on LBJ and AD and Rob folding under pressure. I hope the talk of player development with JJ is real and Rob lets JJ develop as a coach.

When you watched those games did you HONESTLY think MVP? LeBum wasn't the reason they won a single game but sure...MVP. The REAL MVP was clearly Steph. If he wasn't on Team USA they would've caught 2 Ls and not even medaled. The MVP was equal to us regular folks getting a watch & a pizza party for working 20 years with someone. It was like a "thanks for the memories" like taking a big French D to the face.

Olympics are 10 to 12 games max. 82 games plus playoffs MIA. How soon we forget. 40 year old + 82 game season + plus playoffs, I know the new math is easy to figure out for you young lad. I'll give you a hint Lebron is in LA for the money and the fame not for championships. Building his production company and his personal wealth are the goal and I don't blame him at this point. Laker fans are about championships if Jeannie is listening not about how many seats you can sale to Hollywood. Oh well I remember the good old days, Rest in peace Jerry West the Architect of Greatness and to Jerry Buss who was wise enough to hire champions in the front office, not wannabes.

Dear Andy, I believe keeping Vanderbilt and Vincent (healthy) is big for the off season movement issue. Also, if Christian Wood does come with vengeance (a big if at this point) and Jaxson Hayes, AR, Rui DLo improve 10% than the Lakers have done plenty, Also, hopefully the biggest offseason acquisition could be JJ Redick for D Hamm "trade" could be an exciting year?

Brian, my new hero, Yes, the Lakers don't owe it to the players to deliver a title, the players are getting paid handsomely, they are in LA where they can build a brand. If anything the players owe it to the Laker Organization to be at their best to bring a championship home. Player Commitment to an organization has gotten lost in this new era of "you owe ME"
@Murali_bala132 ай бұрын
Andy and Brian, when talking about Reaves or DJMurray, we shouldn't restrict our conversation to just Talent in a vacuum, we must factor in the fit with LeBron and AD... Which is phenomenal with AR.... After our Russ experiment, we owe it to ourselves to start all such conversations with fit first before Talent evaluation.. Are you sure about the Murray fit on this team?....I dreaded that it was more likely to be a Russ type fit ... whenever i heard his name in trade talks....😂
@LockedOnLakers2 ай бұрын
You're correct that chemistry matters and by all accounts and appearances, LeBron and Austin have an excellent relationship. I honestly don't know enough about Murray to make a judgment call there one way or another. I've never met him and haven't gotten much sense from coverage of his personality, positive or negative. AK
@Murali_bala132 ай бұрын
@@LockedOnLakers yes that and the fact that we can't project Murray's on court fit with LeBron and AD vis-a-vis Reaves.... Also his defensive impact metrics on a hapless Hawks defense is not illuminating or noteworthy...
@godfreyevbuomwan45422 ай бұрын
@@Murali_bala13I hate when ppl ignore that the main problem with Russ was not the fit it was the contract. Russ was clearly overpaid and costed us our entire roster. His big contract also restricted our ability to only have cap space for vet minimum players. If Russ was on a smaller contact then the fit would have been a lesser problem. DJ is on a great contract and is better player than AR. We are trying to make AR a secondary ball handler which DJ is clearly better at.
@Murali_bala132 ай бұрын
@@godfreyevbuomwan4542 please ...Russ is a misfit on any team trying to win!!!! 😂😂.... Look what the Clippers did .. it has nothing to do with his contract... Also, .yes on the face of it, seems DJ is a better player, but the question is what is his fit with this team?...a better player does not necessarily make a better team... Meanwhile, LeBron is willing to defer to Reaves in the biggest of moments in a critical playoff situation.... That means he has Lebron's trust.... I doubt DJ will walk in and have Lebron's trust from day 1 esp with ZERO playoff experience??? Also, is he a better shooter than Reaves?, the #s don't bear that out. Everyone says he's a way better defender and yet the Hawks were one of the worst defensive teams in the league!!!! Sounds like a lot of empty calories to me.... While Reaves is more impactful on the court as the "glue", "connector", high IQ guy on the floor...... And DJ is making twice the money AR is...so no he's not on a better contract than AR!!!! I keep AR and pass on DJ.... Simple as that ... And the Lakers did the same correct evaluation for once Just watch, the Pels will be one of the biggest disappointments this year....
@godfreyevbuomwan45422 ай бұрын
@@Murali_bala13 Do the hawks have Lebron and AD on their team? Do you know how many open looks AR gets playing alongside 2 superstars who are the primary focus against every team. Do you know how many times AD had to leave the post and cover up for AR on defense. Lakers would be the worse defensive team if AD was not on the team. Let me see Reaves play alongside Trae Young with no AD covering up for him on defense. Clippers failed bcos of Kawhi’s inability to stay healthy. And DJ’s fit is that he takes the ball out of Dlo’s hands so we no longer need to rely on him as a point guard and trade Dlo for a center or a 2 way player.
@dennisknowles92932 ай бұрын
I agree with you 💯 percent Brian they owe it to the organization to try and WIN AS MANY CHAMPIONSHIPS AS THEY CAN WITH THE AD. LEBRON ERA😢😢😢
@markeithmoore71662 ай бұрын
Ignore his greatest, and then make excuses why you didn't bring your A game in trades. Excuses excuses excuses for the front office. It is more important to be more popular than relevant in today's championship runs; that's been the most important thing for the front office.

Why is this a thing? Can we focus on our players and quit cherry-picking every other teams players? This is why the nba hates Laker fans.
@LockedOnLakers2 ай бұрын
Did you actually listen to the show? Not only did we spend zero minutes talking about what it would take to get Doncic in a trade or how he'd fit with AD - if anything, we downplayed the chances of it ever happening - our focus was in fact what it says about the current offseason, and whether this report is indicative of how the front office is operating. That IS a focus on the Lakers. But we're also not gonna ignore something many who cover the league and the Lakers are also discussing. That would be silly, especially for a podcast that runs 5x a week. AK

I doubt the Lakers have turned down a "good deal" The League doesn't like making trades with the Lakers and I think it goes back to the Jerry West dominant trade era, jealous of the Laker LA Market and brand. Trades for the Lakers is a difficult task, heavy lift.

The lakers don’t owe it to Lebron. They owe it to the fans. We remember how bad it was when the kids were playing and there is no guarantee that we’ll have another dynamic hall of famers duo like Lebron and AD to compete for championships.

Cause this podcast sounds like the previous 25 years for the Mavs. Always coming up empty in free agency and "keeping an eye" on the next Big Fish free agent. Face it. The torch has been passed and NBA players no longer want to play with an entitled grandpa. They wanna play with the new faces of the NBA. Guys like Luka, Ant, Shai, and maybe even Ja before he showed everyone that he's an irresponsible gun owner and may accidently shoot you.

Anybody that thinks this a good thing, is misguided. Guys already complain about Luka being too ball dominant & heliocentric..complain about Luka not being in the best shape..complain about Luka constantly getting into it with refs..complain about his defense, etc. Luka is one thing to this ownership group..💵. That’s it. Lakers benefit by gaining popularity in Slovenia. But what about building a winning environment? Who cares….😐
@leonarronquillo593Ай бұрын
Sure he complains. But a player who is arguably the best scorer in the regular season and playoffs, one of the most elite playmakers in this current era, and can rebound pretty well. And what, your argument is that the only benefit Lakers will get is more fans in a small European country? 😂😂 Man, GTFOH. Only dums dums like you would think a player of his caliber would not be wanted in the Lakers organization. Even Magic Johnson wanted to get Luka at some point. Winning environment? The moment LeBron retires, Lakers will be bottom feeders. AD can't carry the team which leaves you with the likes of Reeves, Rui, etc leading the damn team 😂😂

Reaves is overrated. He's the white boy on the team with a decent skills. I'm not saying people are being racist, I'm saying it's because it's not something you see a lot of, so when you see a little skills your wanna root for the guy. And so the eye will play tricks on you. All those points Denver needed last year, they got off Reaves, 7 straight. That guy who Murray burnt was not D Lo. It was Reaves, and yet people don't talk about it and still pile up on DLo. The mind is a mf, lol
