My concern with Vrabel is that Titans were never contenders even with Henry, and some good WRs. They were at best wild card, but I guess for the Jets that would be like winning the Super Bowl

To be fair, Ryan Tannehill was at QB, and the GM made bad moves against Vrabels request. Vrabel wanted to keep AJ Brown, Titans trade him, draft a bust, and AJ Brown has been a top 3-4 receiver in the league since then. They always had a pretty good roster, but like us the last few years, there was no high level play at QB. I think he got the most out of what he was dealt. I understand your concern though. It’s a valid one.

Keep in mind that the 49ers hired Kyle Shanahan before hiring John Lynch as GM. In fact, Lynch admitted that he approached Shanahan and asked, if he gets the 49ers job, to keep him in mind for GM. That arrangement has worked out for the 49ers.

Jets defense isn't that bad. The big problem with the Jet defense is their inability to get a pass rush. Once the pass rush gets fixed then you will see Jet defense better. We know Vrabel can pick OC. Two of them became a HC.

I’m just not sold on Vrabel. I need a coach that knows offence, finding good defensive play callers is so much easier than offensive play callers id much rather our identity be on offence than anything else, especially for the modern day NFL. Vrabel’s time as a head coach is dramatically romanticised he wasn’t as good as people are making him out to be. For me Ben Johnson and Liam Coen are top top top priorities. It’s so important we get the right GM so we can convince them.

the problem with the jets is the offense. why are we bringing in a defensive coach? it is clear that teams that have hired offensive wizards are the teams that are going to the playoffs or have done well. kyle shannahan, matt lafleur, ben johnson, sean mcvay, etc. thats the type they should hire

I think you need a Ben Johnson as coach, a Joe Brady type OC and a creative QB coach to round out the offense. Get a GM from KC or DET then focus on the D. Do not bring back AR bc they need a bridge QB like Fields or Winston

Yes, the Jets are a dysfunctional mess and haven’t been to the playoffs forever and the SB for longer than that. But it’s the NYJets. Joe Namath’s and Weeb Ewbank’s NY Jets.
