The German police took precautions at other Christmas markets, blocking off streets to ensure a vehicle attack like this couldn't happen, increasing police presence etc. Why was this one NOT protected. In the 90s, I was stationed in Heidelberg in a German American Military Police Unit and met several local Polizei. They were very professional, and I simply don't understand what has happened.

ALL citizens injured should sue, because the Barriers should be strong enough to stop a 4x4 big heavy truck. The barriers FAILED against a BMW.
