You will love having figs from a tree that belonged to your grandfather. We have a fig that belonged to Danny's grandfather. It is very special to him. Loved seeing you repot it.

What a great memory to keep going for your grandad! I use 6X but it is the red bag, great when planting the potatoes. Thanks for the tip off with the root trainer deal, mine are 3 years old now and starting to get a bit tired. Any chance of an update with Tony's progress on the tunnel move? All the best mate........Nigel 😄👍🏻

+MuddyBootz Hi Nigel, yes im chuffed to bits that i have it, hopefully i breath new life into the old tree, im sure my grandfather would be smiling!! Tony has suffered with illness lately but is ok now, he has also endured relentless amounts of rain so has not been able to get on his plot for weeks, he will be returning to the channel soon ;-)

Brian great story about your fig tree . I love and collect a lot of fig trees. Wondering if you know what variety it is?.. Not all fig trees in Britain are brown turkeys as most of the garden centres mislabel them.
@ciggyhore9997
@ciggyhore9997 8 жыл бұрын
+Sussex Gardening Im not sure how you would identify the variety tbh so any advice welcome...i see your in sussex? ill sub your channel :-)
@FruitsForLife
@FruitsForLife 8 жыл бұрын
+Brian Bastable hello, thanks for replying . Yes I live in Sussex, recently growing figs and collecting different varieties has become an obsession for me. It would be much easier to identify the variety once we see the leaves and fruits. NPK 3-1-2 would be the best choice till mid June followed by NPK 1-2-3 IMO. Thanks and looking forward to watch some updates. Cheers

Great video! I am currently experimenting with the possibility of getting the second crop of figs to ripen under cover (Polytunnel) here in West Wales. Fresh figs from the garden in mid-summer are great (Breba crop), It would be even more of an achievement if I could get the heavier second crop of ripe figs (Main crop) to fully ripen by November !

If the figs keeps dropping, you may want to find out what type of fig you have. If it is NOT a common fig type, this is actually because you need a fig wasp. Just food for thought.
