Repotting my Huge Alocasia Portodora (Alocasia Soil Tips)

Oh wow, it might very well be. Thanks for pointing this out. Is this just incorrect labelling on the side of the nurseries or is it simply difficult to differentiate between the two? Might need to change my video title then ;)

Nice plant! How is it doing after the repotting? Has it grown a lot since then? I'm a bit worried because the pot doesn't have a drainage hole.

Hey Peggy :) the plant is doing very well at the moment. It hasn’t grown tremendously in size, but quite a few new leaves appeared. The drainage hole situation doesn’t appear to be an issue so far. I need to repot it soon though, because it’s outgrowing the new pot. 😪

@@GardeningwithTill, that's good news! And it proves that the large types of alocasias are not as finicky as the mini types. This plant has just appeared at my favourite plant shop here in Hungary so I'm going to buy one, too. Wish me luck! 🙏

@@peggyhofmann9187 yes indeed. That’s been my experience as well. They are quite water hungry compared to some other house plants, but generally the larger ones are relatively easy to take care of :) good luck and fingers crossed!

Wow that's huge. How old is it?

I bought it about a year ago and it has grown nearly double in size since then. So I could imagine it being a bit more than two years old :)

I know right? Now a year later it’s outgrown the new pot as well I think. Time to do some more repotting ;)
