BP is built upon recklessness. Disregard for safety. Money is its priority. Greedy bastards.

With all the computer consoles and controls they don’t simply have a governor too govern how much air in fuel can go in the intake simply like a butterfly in carburetor of a gas engine to prevent it from Taking too much fuel and over revving Cutting the airflow off to a turbo before air goes in the turbo Will not damage the turbo to be in a vacuum Provided your generators use turbos for a boost power when air is cut off to the engine and fuel To prevent the engine from over revving And allowing the rigs engine Generators to continue to run at normal speed COME ON thank Guys I’m a class a mechanic that works on diesels every day and cutting the airflow off to an engine especially when it’s receiving fuel with it will prevent the engine from over revving engine allow the rig to continue to have control !! And if the seals will not handle the vacuum then put seals in a turbo that will A diesel engine is no longer Diesel engine When it’s running on gas so you should treat it like a gas engine and with a gas engine you have a butterfly and a carburetor to prevent it from getting too much air in fuel at one time To maintain the RPMs of that engine think I hope my information saves lives in the future

Nailed him, Peter Welch. I think the most telling part of this interview is at 4:45 when he won't even admit he clearly made the wrong decision in selecting the more inexpensive, less safe extraction method and his excuse is a lack of expertise (which is ridiculous/INEXCUSABLE as a decision making CEO). Then you lay into him about accusations of proven profit seeking negligence and he stood silent. Bravo.

It clearly demonstrates that you are not from the industry. Same as the arrogant questioning person. No clue whatsoever. It is not about extraction method but about centralizing the casing inside the wellbore while running it inside an open hole. You have got a dilemma of choice between casing running smoothness and further cementing quality (there should be no contacts between casing and wellbore). The price of centralizers is nothing compared to semi-sub daily rates and operation spreadcost. The more relevant question would have been about using more liners instead of complete casings going up to the well top, which would have made the well far more expensive. But the selected design with relevant CBL job, and mudlogging controls combined with remote real time operations control would have made the well design workable. The main question should have been about prevailing drivers by the end of the well - finance and management visit over safety..

He is the CEO, he has absolutely no idea about the details of high tech drilling. And it is very involved. Why he is even being questioned? I really don’t know.

@@krakenwoodfloorservicemcma5975 it's reported his net worth is 40,000,000 USD. How does that happen. Clearly he had his briefs and just lied and still kept pension of 10MM UKP when he was let go from BP. Scary times when you still have employees like this around in the 21st century

I repaired diesel locomotive electrical systems for Burlington northern. Do you think they brief warran buffet every time we blow one up? His net worth has nothing to do with it.. I am pretty damn sure tony didn’t start out as a roughneck.

I'd rally to the end of time for this man. He has my heart. He's misunderstood and it makes me sick to see the judgments upon him.

CEO's are Point Men / Women...they rely heavily on bottom tier level ABCDE VP's to provide updates....especially with a company as big as BP...so Tony had no idea other than $ bottom line $ risk analysis..... well as a revolving CEO he's gone onto his next venture and the next one...
