Good review my dude. The red marks youre seeing is grease/fabric pen. it will wash out really easily.(non permanent) The pack/color will fade over time/use. We wanted to reproduce them as a more newly made/issued ruck as they would have been during the war. there are a handful, of CISO color variations. as my original is actually more of a light tannish green. the bottom reinforcements, we did a different style green as CISO;s also have a variation, as some are made from the same canvas the ruck is, left over webbing, or like mine, parachute webbing.(Mine is nylon) looking forward to seeing how or if you weather it.

The pocket on the back were you back is on is for lrrp rations to keep them warm from humping all day your back will be warm to heat your food

I got one too, the side pockets aren't as big as my original and I can't put a plastic canteen in them.. Maybe the material stretched with use.

Call me old school but I'm still a fan of the ARVN rucks and I carry an M1941 backup for smaller patrols Not that it's not a sick looking pack, for sure... The grandpappy of the Alice
