Republic Cart Yard Vid

Merry Christmas everyone; hope you all had a great day with your loved ones and got some great gifts. Here’s a little vid I randomly shot a couple days ago on the way back from exercise. Mostly carts to be given to commercial accounts for recycling and organics, but they’ll be making their way to residential eventually.

The old color carts will be given out until they run out. And the condos you mentioned did have recycling, but I believe that specific condo complex wanted all new carts for whatever reason

They must have a ton leftover since it’s taken this long for anything new colored to barely even touch residential lol. That complex you’re talking about is the one on Rio Vista and Jackson?

⁠@@94tristen_thetrashmanyea they have constant cart replacements so they are now delivering a mix of old colored carts and new colored ones, I’ve seen a couple new color ones popping up around me as well as in Anaheim. Yea, that is the condo complex, I know the driver who does that area.

@@DanielWDonuts I must not have been paying much attention when I drove through there, I’ll have to go back again. All the dark green ones I seen were newer while the oldest black were Rotos. I wish I had carts but I’m stuck sharing a dumpster with 2 other buildings lol

i think you were right about it being only trash actually. there are no recycle carts pre 2023 on maps. how many days a week does your apt go?

@@DanielWDonuts It’s supposed to go MWFS but they haven’t been coming on Saturday for months, and not even for any of the other Saturday dumpsters in the neighborhood either

So in California they can’t handout old carts with the new lid colors?

Any old colored carts will be handed out until the stock has been depleted since they were purchased before January 1, 2022. While it is possibly to slap new lids on the old colored carts, I think Republic didn’t want to go through all the trouble, costs etc of replacing all the lids.

I love cart yards!! Weird that companies always buy a mix of NB's and EG's. And yeah, toters are so flimsy and just kinda terrible all in all new ones anyway

Mmmm yeah I’ve got no problems with NBs being thrown in the mix 😅 Probably all the 65 gal EG molds were busy at the time of manufacturing, and Anaheim needed carts right away so they fired up the NBs.
