I don't think you're reading Biden correctly. By saying earlier that he wouldn't negotiate, and then later negotiating with McCarthy, he convinced McCarthy and others that they were *actually winning," when in fact he foxed them. Now, if they refuse to vote for it, all the following carnage will be obviously their fault and they won't be able to deflect the blame. Had Biden not negotiated, or invoked the 14th, they could spin it into Biden's fault. The Republicans actually got very little out of this deal; most of the cuts will be made up from other areas; unspent covid funds, for instance. Look carefully at the deal, it's an unequivocal win for Biden. And I'm a Sanders supporter.

Kyle, will you speak out about the potential UPS Union Strike? UPS Union Drivers are threatening to strike, making it the largest strike in modern U.S. History. We're talking over 350,000+ Union Workers who deliver millions of packages to Americans every year. UPS has until Aug. 1 to make a deal with the driver's union before they walk. Tanner Fischer is the president of Teamsters Local 90 in Des Moines, the union representing delivery drivers in the ongoing labor negotiations with UPS. According to him, he says the drivers have played a part in changing how Americans shop and that annual profits at UPS are over three times higher than they were in 2018 when they signed the previous contract. "If there's no agreement by Aug. 1 we're all walking," Fischer said. "We have a whole campaign behind it, we're getting our workers fired up and ready to go. On average, UPS delivers as many as 24 million packages a day across the country - claiming they move about 6% of the United States economy. So when I say a historic level strike is looming, I'm serious. Past that, if Marianne Williamson is serious about her message of supporting Unions with this strike occurring in Iowa, which should be the first State to vote within the Democratic Primaries, this would almost certainly garner her a momentous landslide victory to begin with while at the same time garnering her widespread Media Coverage just due to the sheer scale of this potential strike. If she wants her message of I'm for the worker to land and stick, I see this being a gigantic stepping stone. Reach out to her on this an look into it

Setting aside the fact that the pertinent texts in the U.S. Constitution are quite clear on this matter, there is ZERO chance the SCOTUS would rule in any way that causes a default on the debt, as I said. Because if the Democrats have the house and Senate after 24, then they can now argue that after this close call, the best possible solution is to eliminate it and any members who were previously on the fence, will probably be on-board with eliminating it.

The problem with the debt is twofold: dedollarization threatens the economy the same, if not more so, than a default, and most of the debt hasn’t gone to building up America at all, it’s basically gone to dead end things like military. So continuously increasing the debt limit with no clear plan on how to manage it, like with infrastructure, is completely pointless and idiotic. Dedollarization is the true debt limit and it’s happening as we speak.

Kyle is wrong when he said the bill will be moslty passed with DEM votes, it has to be mostly REPs VOTES otherwise why go thru REPS committees. Also Kyle is wrong 2013 we did the same thing. How fast would invoking the 14th amendment actually play out? Would Biden issue an executive order? I read somewhere that the process would take too long beyond June 5th, but I'm assuming that would be the courts while invoking it would take immediate effect. Even so, how about if the vote fails, they simply don't attach budget negotiations to a vote on raising the debt limit and simply vote ONLY on the debt limit and trash these so called negotiations. That shouldn't be complicated. With little time to spare I'd like to think that even republicans or rather McCarthy would rush a vote on the debt limit. Dems will 100% be on board and only need a handful of republicans, which I mean we're talking about avoiding disaster.

As I see it the ideal outcome here is No Deal and Biden goes with the 14th Amendment AND McCarthy gets ousted then the GOP spends the rest of the term arguing over who replaces him. I know that means little to no legislating gets done, but damn, that might be better than some of the BS they are trying to pass.

You can also get a passport in-person through your nearest passport acceptance facility, provided the State Department doesn't collapse. I live in Portland, OR, so I drove to Seattle, WA and was able to get mine on the same day since I was traveling soon.

They want him to invoce the 14th amendment. The supreme Court would agree it shall not be questioned. That more solidifies the shall not be infringed of the second amendment.

That’s a gamble. I’m thinking that the Supreme court would side with MAGA on whether or not, they can raise the debt limit.

Again I would refuse to negotiate and point out that they are trying to hold the country hostage and if they are stupid enough not to vote for the debt celling I would record every republicans name and say they tried to destroy the country, then use the 14th amendment or mint a trillion dollar coin. and use the fact that they tried to destroy the country in attack ad after attack ad, and tried to destroy the country to defund Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.

Actually, the debt ceiling crap is like taking out your wallet while having plenty of money to pay, but saying you won't because you didn't budget for your meal.

I haven't forgotten the Tea Party-era brinksmanship over the debt ceiling. They got it done just barely in the nick of time but the credit ratings agencies STILL downgraded our credit worthiness (for the first time in our nation's history, if memory serves), because whether they got it done in time or not, the very brinksmanship of it all demonstrated that Congress hopelessly doesn't have its shit together. This is going to hurt no matter what happens, I fear we've passed the point of no return.

It's beyond shocking, Trump raised the debt ceiling three times with absolutely no drama. Deficits don't matter when Republicans have control. If some Republican beats Joe Biden, we won't hear about the debt for the next four years.

I hate all of this, so much, why couldn't dems just have stuck with 14th amendment? I have no idea of the SCOTUS would have ruled, but if they ruled with the constitution(as they should), there would no longer be any of this nonsense in the years going forward.
