Brookhaven always impressed me, even as a little child. I remember pulling into the train depot to visit my grandparents. My family history in Mississippi goes back over 220 years. My ancestors were deeded their land by John Adams. I’ve always been very proud of that. I remember my niece’s comments the first time she visited Brookhaven with me. She said it reminded her of Bedford Falls in the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life.” That pretty much sums it up. My mom and dad met in Brookhaven when my dad saw my mom walking down the street with a friend. I have lived all over this country, but being that my parents met in Brookhaven you could say that’s where I got started. All best to Brookhaven.… Michael Newell
