They all look great. I wondered though does the outer coat especially with paint affect the smell of the spices? Also the stars reminded me of when I made a dough out of equal parts cinnamon and apple sauce and made ornaments with cookie cutters. They still smell and look great after over 20 years. Except the ones I made too thin
@RepurposedMyWay2 ай бұрын
Yes, it does tone the smell down quite a bit. I remember doing the cinnamon and sauce ornaments with my kiddos years ago. I think I still have some in my ornaments too. ☺

I also like the primitive look. Do you light the candles and if so doing this technique, will it have a fragrance??
@RepurposedMyWay2 жыл бұрын
Thank for the great question. These are for decoration only. The won’t burn the mod podge or spice mixture makes the wick go out. Of course in a situation where you wanted to burn it, you could scrape the spice off the top down to the wax and keep the wick. It would burn then.

I have a "grubby" " gringy" question for you. I have a roll of furniture webbing for a ton of crafty projects, but it is new and I want it to look old. What do I do to un-new it.
@RepurposedMyWay3 ай бұрын
If it it canvas or cloth material it would be easy to coffee or tea stain it. Coffee gives a darker stain than the tea. Make sure which ever mixture you use is warm and submerge your webbing in it. Check to see how the coloring is after 30 minutes and keep checking until desired darkness. ( The color will be lighter after it dries.) Spread it out in the sun and it should be just the right aging for your project. Hope this helps, Good Luck!!

The light is a little more muted when you grubby it, but still a good amount of light comes through. I have seen them with and without being done. I prefer adding the mix to the bulb, but I think it is personal choice.
