Rescheduling our Walt Disney World Trip + All the Mouse Ears and Loungefly Bags I'm Bringing!

My family was all set and booked for a Walt Disney World trip the beginning of February, but we decided to push that back to the first week of May when hopefully things will be safer. That means we had to rebook everything, but it might even be more fun then! Since we decided to cancel the February trip pretty close to it, I had already organized and set out all the mouse ears and Loungefly bags I'd be bringing for the trip. Since I had everything out now, I thought I would share it!

I have just learned that you can mobile order gluten-free churros from one of the restaurants at Coronado Springs, so I will be in churro heaven!!

I will have to remember that! It can be such a struggle to be a gluten free traveler, at least for me it's felt that way (found out I have celiac later in life so still not used to it when away from home)

I'm thankfully not celiac so I can be a bit more lenient when it comes to cross-contamination and gluten-free friendly, but finding GF food to eat when traveling can be a major task!

We had plans to head to Disney World for Valentines week however we cancelled and rescheduled our travel plans too. We didn’t think it was safe for travel. Rescheduling just keeps the vacation countdown excitement going 👍🏼 . Love your ear collection !

Hi Emily. I think you made a smart decision moving your trip given the doctors orders for your dad. Safety and Heath should be a priority. We LOVE Coronado. Such a beautiful resort. We dined at Three Bridges 5 nights in a row. The food is so good. Highly recommend the tacos and those amazing French fries. Have fun when you go!

I like the simple fabric ears! They are so colorful ☺️ ever since you did that tutorial on the Minnie main attraction ears I thought it's so smart to use printed fabric to get specific patterns like this 😁👍 Really nice ear line-up! I went to Disney world right at the beginning of the month, and I found a really awesome ita bag at pin traders! It has a window to display pins and then removable felt panels to keep trading pins on. I love it def keep an eye out for it!

Oh nice, you're planned out, that's awesome! It will be a little over a year in a half until I get to go, I'm traveling with some friends from Hawaii & they need the extra time to save up so I do have plenty of time to figure out what I'll bring. I figured I'd use my Ducktales Loungefly bag for all of the parks when I go but you made me wish to do a little theming, those bags are expensive so for now, I'll stick to my plan of using my Ducktales bag. I plan for my trip to fit in as much Disney Afternoon representation as I possibly can but also squeeze in other parts of Disney that I love such as Disney's Toontown Online, I've been planning out a pair of Toontown themed ears I want to make so I might end up wearing them a lot during my trip. Happy that you're excited about yours, mine is long ways away but super happy you're going in May, I hope your mom loves wearing some of the ears you packed. You did such an excellent job on them, I'm sure it will pull even more traction to your shop.

I went for a day the second week in January. It was a lot more crowded than I anticipated. I was super bummed Everest and splash mountain were closed. 😪

Hi Emily! Flower and Garden is tied for number one for my favorite festival. I hope you really enjoy the topiaries. You mentioned you guys had to cancel or change your February DVC rental plans. We have rented points before and loved it. Do you mind if I ask if you incurred any cancellation fees? I understand if if you may not want to answer. I have been curious how cancellations like that might work since COVID. We rented points in 2019 pre Covid. I hope you guys have a great trip!

My family's going to Disneyland during the first week of June and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that case numbers start going down by then! I plan on bringing a bunch of my ears to wear (including my beignet ears lol) but I'm nervous about packing them in my luggage so they won't get damaged; do you have any tips and tricks for packing ears? I always bring my ears in a carry on suitcase. Any more 'fragile' ears, I put them in a plastic scrapbook paper storage box/case. Those cases work perfectly for packing ears!

Case numbers don’t matter. Quit living in fear. What makes you think that “case numbers” are not going to go up or stay the same in May too? Is your dad vaxed, he will be fine. Live your life. The real only reason to move back the trip would because some of the good rides are closed right now.

I ten thousand percent disagree with your comment. To have that attitude is to care about no one other than yourself. There is no ‘living in fear,’ it is living with empathy and concern for public health.

@@MagicallyEmily if you are “concerned” with people’s health, what have you been doing the past two years? Have you not been in one store? Even ordering online someone have to pick or pack and deliver your item. You would be putting those as well as others at a “risk” of covid. Where is you empathy for them? Also, do you understand that Orlando’s economy was completely rocked because Disney shut down which means that people had trouble finding other jobs and being able to feed their family? No empathy for them? In every report I have read the cases in Florida are down, so are hospitalizations. You will be outside most of your trip in warm weather it’s in the 70s right now in Florida. And you can spare me with I doing this because my dad might get sick on a trip there are literally dying kids, teenagers, and adults with various deseases thst have gone to Disney since they have reopened and nothing had stopped them from enjoying and living their lives with their family. Nothing much is going to change in May when it comes to cases so are you just going to keep pushing back your trip? This is endemic now, not a pandemic. What you are practicing is not empathy but irrationality.

Very Smart! We went for Christmas and it was AWFUL! I don't really understand the point for park reservations if they still allow a million people in!!? Disney employees enforce mask indoors but they still push you all the way in like sardines. Every line they are yelling for ppl to move in closer. I felt like it was pointless to make people wear mask indoors if they are 1cm away from the next person. Needless to say 4 of us came home with covid. I hope it better when you do decide to go! ps love your ears!!! I made some and they were not durable for 5 yearold kiddos!
