I'm sure Clive, whose almost 90, will always hold a place in his heart for his rescuers. The snake was thinking "Oh, what's this?" Then "I think I'll bite this old man's leg."

Very easily. Just imagine having a dual hypodermic needle slammed onto you up to a dozen times. It's just kapow kapow kapow! THAT'S a coastal taipan attack! Oh, and as for dry bites; no such thing with these snakes. They envemonate! Same deal with the black mamba.
@nopcshere60976 жыл бұрын
Taipans are badasses. The scariest part about them is they sneak into houses and aren't afraid to bite, and bite multiple times like a black mamba or Indian cobra.

This is a coastal taipan. I've read that the inland ones are even worse than the one here! It not only has a neurotoxin but a hemotoxin also. Hemotoxin isn't typically found in elepides but the taipan is an exception. Hemotoxin are typically found in pit vipers like the ones here in the United States, rattlers, cottonmouths and copperheads.

I'm glad I live in the United States of America where we are safe from these kinds of deadly venomous snakes. Granted, we have rattlesnakes, cottonmouths and copperheads, even coral snakes, which is an elapid like the taipans, but even when they bite, it's a single bite and not multiple and we have the antivenin for them.
@ILoveOldTWC5 жыл бұрын
I've googled and looked it up on wikipedia inland taipans vs. coastal taipans as well as the location in Australia that William Shatner said this occurred in, and my conclusion is that this was more than likely a coastal one. The coastal taipan is far more aggressive than the inland. Mareeba is on the northeast coast of Queensland.
@LindaCooper-i3f6 ай бұрын
That’s north of Brisbane alright. Anyway, surely the retail stores in Brisbane would want to sell everything from cowboy boots 👢 to expensive luxurious sets of matched luggage 🧳 from leather goods manufacturers like Gucci, especially if the leather goods are made from the hides of taipans and other such venomous species.
@ILoveOldTWC5 жыл бұрын
If Mr. Clive Brady was 63 then, he's 91 now, since 1991 was 28 years ago, if he's still with us. If he's no longer with us, I know it was NOT because of that cruel and vicious coastal taipan snake biting him 3 times. I counted, of course it could've been more then 3, since this was a reenactment.

In America the most deadly snake we have is a correl snake. They are black, yellow, and red. There's a king snake is the same colors. How to tell the differences between them is red touching yellow kill a fellow. Red touching black friend of Jack. The red touch black is a king snake and will kill and eat a red touching yellow. Don't think for 1 moment that these small snakes can't bite you. They damn sure can. I've seen videos where a corral snake has struck and bitten dogs as well as people. I've lost 2 dogs to a corral snake bite.

@LindaCooper-i3f6 ай бұрын
DeborahAmbroseandSnow, As a fellow American, I think that maybe it’s just about time that someone issued a bounty on the coral snakes in the USA 🇺🇸, because their venom is so deadly that they’re related to the cobras of both Africa and Asia. The bounty would be made payable through leather goods manufacturers like Gucci who’ll then turn the hides into everything from cowboy boots 👢 to expensive luxurious sets of matched luggage 🧳, and even if a few of the king snakes wind up in the tanneries where the leather is processed, it’s their fault, and not ours. Besides, I think that maybe Gucci could easily corner the market on rattler skin wallets?!

It's in the same family. Elapids, which includes the black mamba, cobras, taipans, coral snakes (the only species that live in the United States). Their venom is a neurotoxin, whereas the pit vipers like copperheads, cottonmouths and rattlesnakes venom is a hemotoxin. The former attack the nervous system, the latter attacks the blood.

God didn't want snakes to bite people. God put people in paradise, but they messed it all up listening to and following a snake's directions. Now snakes are cursed to go on their bellies and eat dust all their lives. There is also enmity between humans and snakes because of it. You can read the whole story in the book of Genesis.
