Rescue operation underway after parking garage collapse in Manhattan

A major rescue operation got underway in the Financial District on Tuesday after the second floor of a parking garage collapsed. There are reports of multiple people injured and people trapped. CBS2's Alecia Reid reports.

One factor could be that electric cars weigh more than gas powerd cars some alot more. Another factor is that looks like an older garage built to older codes and maybe not maintained over the years. Water infiltration can rust the steel reinforcing bars that hold the whole structure up. It's always a bad combination of issues that cause these failures.

It’s NYC dude. All that sh!t is old af. The tunnels are over 100yrs old and leak like a cheese grater, the BQE is literally crumbling, and the tax base needed for the $100mil/yr break even just to keep the lights on is shrinking as all of the wealth leaves the city.
