@Mr Wonder Bruh people always say stupid shit like that but you don't realize how important hunters truly are. Hunters are NOT the same as poachers! It's not about killing animals but about controlling and protecting the animal population. Sometimes there's an overgrowth, and sometimes there's a downfall and hunters keep that balance so that they 1. Don't endager other species or get endangered themselves, and 2. Don't damage property.
@WildVee3 жыл бұрын
@Mr Wonder lol let me put it this way then. Imagine a little 4 year old girl getting attacked and killed by a wild cougar or bear because it got too close to where people lived and saw the little girl as a threat. Can you honestly say that you're perfectly OK with this being a regular occurence? Hunting for sport is terrible. Hunting to keep everyone safe, animals AND people, is something that *needs* to be done whether you like it or not. I don't know what it's like in America, but in my country, hunters have to be approved before they can legally hunt. They analize all animal data annually, and have to be approved by the government before they can hunt.

Colin Yapp Oregon is a liberal state, so no matter what, they will blame the killing on a hunter, not someone who had to defend his family against a hostile cougar. Yes there is a slight chance that a sport hunter went out and killed a cougar, but as we can see in this video there are 3 live cougar cubs that were rescued by someone with a heart. A "murderous" sport hunter would have just left the cubs there, for fear of reporting it and getting himself in trouble or having bad publicity. Therefore a person protecting himself or his family would probably be more accurate, since a person in that position would be the kind of person who would even call the authorities to report what happened, saving the 3 cubs lives. Our liberal media does all it can to blame the worlds problems on guns & hunters, not caring that guns are a great tool for self defense & protecting ones family in locations that have deadly animals.

Not necessarily any more wild than a house cat or more dangerous than a pit bull. Well, actually, less dangerous than a pit bull! You should check out the vids about Messi the pet cougar to appreciate how easily a cougar can be domesticated! Cougars are the most genetically similar to house cats than all other big cats. More so than bobcats, ocelots, lynx, etc. So, it's not a surprise that these cubs want to cuddle with their humans.

+Scott Slocum This sounds like something that needs to be addressed. Its not right for the cubs to be left to starve. Its inhuman. Someone needs to get a movement going on this.

+Jacob Sutton : in these cases, they're not leaving the cubs to starve; they're killing the parents (sometimes for trophies, and sometimes because that's they only way they're willing to protect their livestock) and "rescuing" the cubs, who must then live out their lives in confinement.
@ArmadilloGaming2009 жыл бұрын

The baby cougars are simply super cute with their cuddly faces where due to their friendly nature would be suitable to star in a feature film entitled, "The Cougar Clan", where the principal cub along with its siblings travel the perilous deep jungle in search of their mother whom has inadvertently been separated by a recent freak storm where the cubs venture forth through one calamity to another trying their utmost to rejoin the rest of the family. This is only one narrative, though many others could easily be developed to create an enchanting movie. Apart from my fertile imagination, I would not mind having the cougar cubs as pets if it were possible. Of course the dwelling would need to be far-removed from the city in order for the cougars to have ample space to roam freely. I would be tempted to take the cubs to bed with me as they could function as soft cushions. However, on second thought, it may be unwise as they could view my sleeping body as food unless of course I feed them a hearty meal prior to bedtime. 😴

Nothing wrong with hunting in general or hunting cougars when the season is right. The hunter did a wonderful thing by caring enough to actually bring the cubs in and let someone save them. He was most likely alone or with friends and didn't have to do this.
@sisterulicia94926 жыл бұрын
First off, I'm not a hunter. Not because I think it's wrong, I just haven't had the opportunity. I plan to soon. Second, hunting is a way of life. You going to the grocery store and buying a package of beef does not excuse you for killing it. Third, it's more about the FACT that you do not have the right to tell another human being they can't hunt. Especially when it isn't an endangered animal and each part of the carcass is used. Just the way it is. Think it's wrong all you want, but you don't get to choose for people.
@sisterulicia94926 жыл бұрын
And bad mouthing the hunter for his choice of lifestyle, to me, is no different from bad mouthing anyone else for their life style choices. Shot in the dark here but I bet your screwed up world view believes it is okay to bad mouth hunters but wrong to think just about any other lifestyle choice is bad. Stop being a hypocrite. And yes it is a lifestyle choice. You don't have to buy it from the super market, you can hunt for your own food and choose not to eat the hormone loaded meat at the store. And if it was killed in self defense and you don't think people have a right to defend themselves against animals that can and will kill them, you have a screw loose. -just saying

For sport, trophy, and to control overpopulation for the most part. On occasion one might also be attacking livestock, or otherwise be deemed a public or ecological danger and may be hunted. Thankfully they have the safest possible rating on the official conservation scales, despite a currently decreasing population. When it comes to eating, you could (and a rare few do), but apex predators usually make for tough, dry meat and typically have trichinae, as well as potential bio-magnification related toxins and other parasites/diseases. Those who do would mostly do so for the novelty or because they only hunt what they'll eat.

Serial killers take trophies.hunt to eat? Sure. Hunt for funzies makes that person a legit monster

@@MadamePianissima I do not say those words lightly. Yes I do know what they are. Approximately 1-4% of pop is born psychopathic. Does not mean they they grow up to be serial killers. But I see you sympathize with monsters, but go off

@@mclarissa371 You just presented a non argument. At one point did I sympathize with serial killers? What does 1-4% of the population being psychopathic have to do with anything? Did you even read what you wrote or were you so desperate to use my "go off" thing against me you just typed out whatever incoherent babbling that first came to mind?

That hunter should be fined and the entire fine should be the total cost of raising/caring for those cubs.

Is there a way to rehabilitate them and send them back to the wild? At this age it should be possible.
@vipitoachumi37075 жыл бұрын
I do not thinks that's possible. I mean to survive in the wild just their instincts are not enough. They need to be trained by their mother. While we understand how the training would go, we can't train them effectively cos we are not cougars ourselves. I do like the idea though.
@lucasa18495 жыл бұрын
Trust Issues . I know they do it to baby deals that have been abandoned or gotten sick. At first they seem helpless, but when instincts kick in they learn how to hunt and to survive. Though I’m afraid that these couger cubs would not learn to stay away from humans wich would obviously be a problem. If not in the wild, i’d rather have them in a big cat sanctuary instead of a zoo.

Gray Kin . That would be pretty damn cool, Maybe in the future it’ll be possible.

They are too acclimated to humans. Besides, they won't be hunted in a zoo. They make pretty nice habitats now a days.

David Goldstein Infact, yes I do. Namely the ones that use rifles, and hunt their prey just for the fur because it makes a great trophy in their homes. - Hint, that is sarcasm. Bears, crocodiles etc. hunt for food. Most humans today, don't have to hunt. And those that do, usually don't hunt predators. And I am not even offended by the few hunters who live in the Savannah or frozen Trundras, beacause they do it for their survival. Big difference. They are not the ones who killed Cecil, or Elephants just for their tusks. So don't be so obtuse. Since when are "big game hunters" predators that have to compete with others. Is a cougar a normal dish on your menue? You know, the only way how I would accept hunting coughars would be, if you did it with your bare hands while fighting for food. - You see the irony? Cougars, crocodiles, bears. They all have "natural" weapons. What do humans have actually? Claws maybe? Dangerous teeth? Not really. We are not predators in the traditional sense. Like I said, the point isn't hunting for your survival though. I am just saying. What you compare here, isn't even the same ballpark you know.
