Different and it is some thing I have done to acers, left them in pot in the ground for 2 years , removed some of the soil after the first year, then potted into a bonsai pot, they look really good . Jerome at the weekend I was at Herons Bonsai in the UK ,Peter allowed me to roam all over his nursery, into the places that are not shown in his videos , I can tell you he has some remarkable different trees he is working on. Great Video .

Nice. Neat videos. Enjoy them all. I just started 5 callery pears from seed. I hope they make nice flowering bonsais. Love the autumn leaf colors especially the moody maroon red and purple hues. Do they make good bonsais. Any tips?

These trees suck in real life i had 3 in my yard amd in winter they easily break with heavy snow and would fall on my fence and break it. After many years the trees looked bad from broken branches so i gor rid of them. Yet even gone saplings continue to grow. Ive taken a few to do bonsais.
@adamheyrend99872 жыл бұрын
Seeing the damage on this tree made me wonder, do you know of any tree species that can reliably recover from damage or trauma?
@johnmichaelrutherford35142 жыл бұрын
Aren't callery pears invasive?
@WeareTheBonsaiSupply2 жыл бұрын
Yes they sure are! Funny how the Bradford is illegal to sell but the callery isn’t. They are identical.
@johnmichaelrutherford35142 жыл бұрын
@@WeareTheBonsaiSupply If I recall correctly the callery is actually a hybrid between a Bradford pear and our native pear trees which is possibly why it's still allowed to be sold, although I've heard they are trying to make both trees illegal and are getting rid of them in certain states because they are invasive and because of they aren't properly pruned and maintained they get a horrible branch structure that snaps in high winds because they also have brittle wood.
@WeareTheBonsaiSupply2 жыл бұрын
@@johnmichaelrutherford3514 that is great information John! I do like them as bonsai though, they perform pretty well.
@johnmichaelrutherford35142 жыл бұрын
@@WeareTheBonsaiSupply yeah I'd imagine so , and BTW you should be fine with your tree ,I believe the laws they are putting in place are only preventing people from planting and growing new ones.

One idea that came to my mind when I saw the tree was you could try to fuse the trunks around the dead center. Could really look cool.
