Thank you for saving this sweet bebe! About 2 years ago a girl I worked with found a baby mallard duckling in one of her flower pots, mama no where to be found. We had already had ducks, so she called me, and I of course couldn't say no! So long story, summarized, he lived in our house till he was big enough to be outside with the other ducks, but he didn't consider himself a duck, he identified as a dog..lol so he would come inside from time to time and sleep but he was still a wild duck so we really tried to let him live that way as much as he wanted, he played with the dogs, would sneak and eat their food, play tug-a-war with the rope toy, when we would get home you'd yell his name and he'd come running or flying to great you! But one day, he just vanished, no signs of him being killed, and last seen on my security camera sitting out by his tree...devastated, doesn't even begin to describe how heartbroken and sad are family was that he was gone, never would I have thought I'd love a freaking duck that much, and still to this day, if I see a solo duck flying anywhere in the area where we live, I'll yell his name out like a crazy person, just in case it might be him 😂 So yesterday my husband sends me a picture, and it's a baby goose!!! He works for the railroad and that sweet lil thing was running down the tracks, so he scooped him up, and well, I suppose here we go again! ❤❤

Thank you so much for sharing! My husband and I rescued two abandoned mallard babies a week ago. After hearing your story, I reached out to a sanctuary a couple hours from our house and I hope they will be going to live there soon. I appreciate the inspiration!

Wow thank you for doing this! Let us know if they do! We wanted to go back to where we brought ours but they were not very responsive and they didn't like the fact that we made a video as they thought it was "exploitative"... we wish we brought him somewhere else because we would love nothing more than to film him being released back into the wild someday.

@@harryandlyss oh my I’m so sorry for your experience. I have actually had a rough time trying to find someone today and it hasn’t been a great experience, until…I just got a call from a wonderful woman who is licensed and has a wonderful refuge where she will rehabilitate them and then release them into the wild. I’m so glad I found your video and if “exploitive” means helpful to others, then BRAVO! You win! Thank you again so much! You are wonderful, loving and compassionate people and the world needs more of you!

This afternoon, we found a little one in the middle of the road and its mom no place to be found. We took it the blue hill trailside museum, and unfortunately, they don’t accept animals, and they gave a list of phone numbers to call. Now we are trying to figure out where to send. Thanks for the video.

Who know the movie name Fly Away Home from 1996 about a adorable American movie actress found a ducklings and took them home with her and trained the ducklings 2 fly and i think her father did not liked the ducklings so he tried 2 get rid of the ducklings 2 drop the ducklings at a forest, but then at the end he started 2 like the ducklings and decided 2 train the ducklings 2 fly. This is kind of like that, 1980's and 1990`s movies r the best top number 1 classic movies in the world. 😊 ☺️ 👍 🙌

Wow. I just ‘rescued’ one the other day that was in a ditch outside my house. I nearly killed it thru my ignorance, ie. letting it swim alone and it lost its waterproofing. I sped researched google which was basically useless though i was panicking ( i wish i had seen this video but i was googling at warp speed 😂). But realised i had to dry it quick so put in box next to radiator (who has a spare heat lamp). Rang bird rescue they said feed it weetbix or biscuits. I had neither so rushed out to supermarket. Meant to soak in warm water. Didnt eat either food. (I dont think I had told the rescue how young it was (had to google thst too and was probably a week old from what i could understand about feathers (it still had fluff). Apparently u can’t put food down their throat as they can asphyxiate which obviously sounds painful and deadly. More googling. Out at midnight looking for worms. Didnt eat the worm but i was too squeamish to chop it anyway. Oh and this is just the first night. Against all odds and despite my ignorance, it survived the night. Still hadnt eaten and chirps weree getting quieter 😟 First thing in morning i drove an hour to the bird rescue and dropped him off. I was shattered! I came home and such a relief to know professionals were looking after him. They are very hard to look after so this couple were right. Take them to a bird rescue as soon as possible.

How did the duckling get into the middle of the road? One possibility is that a bird of prey grabbed it and then dropped it.
